September 10, 2016: This is the day we met at the auditions for our college hip-hop crew, Physical Graffeeti. It was my Freshman year and his Sophomore year. He was on the executive board, which means he helped watch auditions and pick who would join the team. I became a member of Physical Graffeeti that weekend, but we didn't know each other well yet. I realized the following week that he was roaming around my dorm building and later found out he was the RA on the third floor (I lived on the first). From there, we rode to every practice together since he didn't have a car on campus. I would wait for him to finish his RA meetings, which always made us late to practice. Our car rides consisted of talking or scream singing all night long. Those car rides to and from practice bloomed a wonderful friendship. Our trio (Liv and us) was inseparable. We would eat, do activities, go to parties, and laugh until we couldn't breathe at practice together. I developed a crush on him over time; the only person who knew was Liv. She would tell me to stop being a chicken so often. March 16, 2017: The day I decided to put myself out there and tell him how I felt. From that night on, we would do the same things we did before (sing in the car, hang out in our trio, ride to practice together, study together), but it was all done with giggles and feelings. This day is where our story officially starts. May 4, 2017: Tommy asked me to be his girlfriend, and I was giddy. I hoped we would make it through the summer because I was moving back home the next day while the campus was closed. That summer, we met each other's families, fell in love, and learned so much about each other. Over the next six years, we talked about our future, getting married, having kids, making memories, and fulfilling our dreams together. August 23, 2023: I said yes on our trip to Disneyland in California! He had a whole plan for how the proposal would go, but if you know me, I can be very impulsive regarding adventures and Disney. My impulsive behavior is how we ended up in the parks instead of at the fancy dinner he had planned. I begged to go into the parks on the first day, and he decided to go along with it and take me there that night. He hid the ring in his fanny pack and hoped I didn't notice how chunky it looked. Luckily for him, I was so distracted by the Disneyland atmosphere that I was utterly oblivious to how he would look for a spot to pop the question. After several hours and several rides, during our last stroll through the park, he tells me he needs to stop for a second. He takes me behind the gazebo where the live-action Little Mermaid does her meet-and-greets during the day. It looks out over the water, and the lights are breathtaking. We looked at the sights, and that's when I noticed him taking deep breaths. I knew what was about to happen, and it did. He got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. I was so shocked that the only words I could say at first were, "Are you serious?" because surely this isn't happening at the perfect spot right now. After he laughs and asks me again, I say of course. All of those conversations about what-ifs are finally coming true. We are so lucky and blessed to have each other and a support system that loves us truly. What started as two dancers loving the sport turned into two dancers falling in love and creating their happily ever after. March 15, 2025: The day we will say I DO!!!! Our most significant chapter will open almost eight years after our story officially started.
