Miranda was a freshman wrestling stat at Olentangy Orange High School alongside one of her best friends, and now bridesmaid, Kaylee Krumm. Both Miranda and Kaylee would call "dibs" on one wrestler from each high school in the district, to try and minimize teenage drama, and Zach just so happened to be Miranda's "dibs" from Westerville Central High School. Zach was a year above Miranda in school and from 2009 to 2012 when he graduated, Miranda was, well, less than outgoing... so she didn't actually say a single word to her future husband in that 3-year timespan. Zach went on to wrestle at American University in Washington, D.C. and after Miranda graduated in 2013, she was off to Arizona State. Fast forward to 2018 when Miranda came back to Columbus after being overseas for a year - She went out with friends to a bar downtown where Zach just so happened to be the bouncer. Miranda recognized him but the liquid courage didn't help the fact that it was a Tuesday night and she was just another tipsy white girl hitting on the bouncer. She slipped the bartender her number to give to the hot bouncer but the story goes that he "never received it." Nearly two more years went by before COVID-19 hit and sent Miranda home to Columbus from Arizona to live with her Mom during the pandemic. In August of 2020, Zach was home on leave from the Marine Corps and both Miranda and Zach just so happened to match on Bumble. She immediately recognized him and started a conversation. They met the very next night at a local bar and talked until close. As they say, the rest was history. It was fate. Miranda will never have to gawk from afar again.
