We acknowledge that it is difficult to plan around the everchanging world presented by the pandemic. Please check with your airline or https://www.visitportugal.com/en/content/covid-19-measures-implemented-portugal before your departure, but as of May 3rd, most non-EU travellers will need to show a negative PCR (72 hours) or Antigen test (24 hours) for entry into Portugal. We recommend that ALL folks bring proof of vaccination in case that is requested at the border/hotel. We will ask all guests to take an at-home Covid test on the day of the wedding (May 28). We will provide tests and instructions. The reception on May 27 will be held outdoors. The cocktail hour following the 28th will take place outdoors. The Church ceremony will be indoors. The dinner & celebration will be held indoors. Please email us with any concerns or additional questions.
Convento do Espinheiro is happy to call a taxi to take guests to Évora. The cost is approximately 8€. We will organize transportation to take guests from Convento do Espinheiro to the welcome reception at the Pousada de Évora on May 27, 2022.
Please RSVP by March 15, 2022. If you had RSVP'd to the 2020 wedding, we ask that you RSVP again for the 2022 wedding. Thank you!
Yes! When you RSVP, please enter the name of your guest and any children who will be attending (preferably your own). Please let us know if you encounter any issues.
Of course! Please let us know about your dietary restrictions when you RSVP.
There is ample parking at Convento do Espinheiro. Parking in Évora, on the other hand, can be very difficult unless it is provided by the hotel that you are staying at. We recommend taking a taxi from Convento do Espinheiro into Évora.
If feasible, we recommend staying in Portugal for at least a week. We suggest 2-3 days in Lisbon (including a day trip to Sintra) and 2-4 days in the Alentejo. You can explore Évora on either May 27 and 28 by foot and you can use Évora as a base of exploration for the Central Alentejo area. Look in "Things to Do" for other suggestions as we also recommend staying one night in Vila Vicosa. We don't recommend trying to do too much. Portugal is small on the map but offers much to see. Do reach out to us with questions as you plan your trip as we can make specific suggestions based on your interests/time.
Our suggested attire for the Friday reception is cocktail. For men, that typically means a wearing a blazer or jacket with a button down shirt - tie optional. For women, that means a cocktail dress or slacks.
We recommend formal attire for the wedding. For men, formal generally means a dark suit. For women, a full length dress, elevated cocktail dress or dressy pantsuit are most appropriate.
