Along time ago in a land far away, Krista and Andrew first met. Krista was in her first year of Physical Therapy school at the University at Buffalo, Andrew was in his last, and for some reason the two just kept running into each other. Several weeks of typical college shenanigans ensued including random kickball games, UBDPT mixers, and the infamous end of semester PT formal (also known as PT prom). It was finally around Halloween that Andrew offically asked Krista out on date as he so elequently stated “Want to come over to my place? I have a hot tub.”

After their very first date Andrew announced the devastating news that it would have to be their last, as he was moving to Jacksonville, FL the very next day for an internship. Krista was heartbroken at first, but they soon began to talk on a daily basis as their new love was flourishing. But alas, as the second semester kicked in, school became more complicated for Krista and Andrew’s internship more demanding. They had less and less time to spend on their long distance love and the two drifted apart….until one day in late September 2013 when Krista received a startling text message from her friend Ashley rhat read “Omg! that Andy guy you dated last year is in one of my classes!”

Andrew was indeed back in the Buff (Buffalo,NY that is) and it didn’t take long for him to seek Krista out and ask her once again to join him in an evening of beer drinking and dart tossing (two of the couples favorite pastimes). Krista reluctantly accepted the offer and before she knew it the two were inseparable, eventually meeting each others friends and families, and talking about the future. Although the roller coaster ride of PT school threw them through more than a few loops, sending Krista away to distant lands such as Atlanta, Sarasota, and NYC, Andrew stuck by her side (and visited her often). As the two spent together in NYC, it became apparent to them both that this was a love worth keeping and they began invisioning a life together once they finished their graduate studies.

After finishing school and passing her board examination, Krista and Andrew decided to make a big change and move out of snowy Buffalo, NY to beautiful Hilton Head Island, SC. Now after several years, this is still where the couple calls home. They recently purchased their new beachside condo ( visitors always welcome!) and love all things beaching, biking, and sunshining.

As part of their yearly tradition of gifting a trip as a christmas present, Andrew surprised Krista with a trip to NYC. He had planned an amzing 24 hour extravaganza, with the help of Krista’s co-workers and one very generous client. The day started out like any other when planning a big trip; hectic and behind schedule. They arrived to the city later that evening and it was bustling with the typical holiday atmosphere that only New York can provide.

The first leg of their treck involved hopping out of the cab to walk the remaining several blocks on foot to their hotel for the night, only to discover that the hotel did not have their reservation. Krista, who was oblivious to what was to occur later that evening, was pleasantly shocked to see how calm and collected Andrew was, because this would typically be when he would get flustered and freak out. Krista thought for sure their dinner reservation would need to be canceled, which is no big deal, they were in New York, the city of endless possibilities! But for some reason Andrew insisted Krista take her stuff to get changed for their nice night out. She didn’t question him but reluctantly changed in a public restroom while the hotel reservation was getting sorted out. Eventually their room was ready and the two were on their way. Krista, who was still blissfully unaware of the true nature of their trip, didn’t even notice that Andrew kept side stepping around her like a little crab, as you see in his back pocket of his pants, he carried a very important object. Andrew suggested they make a pit stop before dinner to see the Tree at Rockefeller Center, and although she thought they had to rush to the dinner reservation, Krista followed him without hesitation. The two found a pleasant spot in view of the tree and before she knew it, Andrew was down on one knee, asking her the question “Krista Nicole Tomblin, will you marry me?” And her response: “Of course, you goof!” And the rest of the night was a blissful blurr of champagne, the most amazing Italian meal, and galavanting around Manhattan as the two celebrated their new engagement!
