Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Our ceremony will begin promptly at 5:30 pm. Please arrive between 5:00 - 5:15 pm.

What is the dress code?

Answer

We invite you to dress to the nines as we celebrate this special day! Our attire is Black Tie Optional with a colorful, garden-inspired twist. Tuxedos or suits & ties are preferred for men. Lightweight fabrics and lighter colored suits are especially encouraged. For women, we recommend breathable fabrics; bright colors and fun patterns are welcomed and encouraged.

Will the wedding be outside?

Answer

Yes! Weather permitting, our ceremony will take place outdoors on the Merrimon-Wynne Lawn. Following the ceremony, cocktail hour will flow between the main house and outdoor spaces. Our reception will be held inside the Carriage House.

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

We kindly request that guests do not take photos during our ceremony, and we encourage guests to be present during our reception knowing we have professional photographers to capture every moment.

Do you have a hotel block for guests?

Answer

Yes! Please check out our "hotels & travel" tab for hotel links. Tom and Wendy and their families will be staying at the AC Hotel. This is also the location of the Farewell Brunch on Sunday morning.

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes! There is a parking lot across the street. There are also many options for Ubers, Lyfts, taxis, etc. in Raleigh. If you choose to drive, you can leave your car overnight if it would be better for you to catch a ride home at the end of the night.

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We're so excited to celebrate this special day surrounded by our closest family and friends. As we're keeping it intimate, only those formally invited on your wedding invitation can be accommodated. If you have a plus one, it will be noted on your invitation and when you RSVP. If you aren't sure and want to confirm before making travel plans just ask!

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love all of our family and friends' children, but we are only able to accommodate children in our immediate family at our ceremony and reception. For out-of-town guests who wish to bring their children along, we are happy to provide you with our venue's list of recommended, background-checked babysitters and assist you in arranging their services in any way we can. We hope you will take this as a chance for a special date night! Children are welcome to attend the Welcome Party the evening of Friday, August 21st. Please let us know in advance so we can plan accordingly.
