Where to stay

The venue and the airport are about 15 minutes from the capital Mahon (Mao), which is a fantastic old town/city built around the port. Loads of different hotel options in the town itself, as well as airbnb apartment options. If you're staying for a bit longer, a rental car is useful for seeing more of the island, but for a few days Taxis are a cheap and convenient option, it should be around 15 EUR from the airport into the town. Binibeca is also around 10-15 mins from the venue, and is more of a seaside resort town with some nice bars and restaurants on the waterfront, but with fewer eating/drinking options than Mahon. Lots of villas for rental on Airbnb, a local supermarket, and nice coastal walks. Sandy and stoney beaches. Es Castell is a small fishing town very close to Mahon, with a great waterfront (probably where we will do our welcome drinks on the thursday) that offers a bunch of really great bars and restaurants. Easily reached by taxi. There are also lots of Agro-tourism (farmy/vineyardy type hotels) options nearby the venue, we've spotted a few around Sant Luis that look very nice (though i wouldn't stay in Sant Luis itself as there’s not much going on there)
