Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Rachael Moodie and Tom Deane
We’re so excited for you to visit Menorca and share this amazing island with you. Here are some of our favourite places to visit, restaurants/bars and activities if you have some time to explore.

Explore Mahon City Center

- Lots of little boutique shops and cafes/bars in the streets and nice restaurants. - Wander along the port - tons of bars and restaurants, as well as some serious boats! (Tom found nearby) - View points over the port from next to the indoor market in town centre. - A fav spot in town is the ‘Fish Market’- this is a courtyard in the centre of the town where you can get beers/drinks and try lots of different tapas local to the area- great place to go for lunch but gets busy quick around siesta time. - Tuesday is market day and there is a large outside market at the top of town with lots of different clothing/trinkets. - Mahon gin distillery on the waterfront - If out shopping remember around. 1.30/2.00 pm many stores will close for siesta and reopen around 4/5pm. Kimmy and Ginge to provide some bar/restaurant reco's.

Bars/ Restaurants in Mahon

Bars: -Paput- little walk from main centre of town- but best Pomoda’s (local cocktail made of lemon and gin and can be frozen like a slushy) and amazing burgers. Sun hits around lunchtime-late afternoon. - Alquimista- nice bar on the port for drinks lite snacks - Vida Una- Vermouth bar on the port - Bandidu - port side pizzas, and great atmosphere - Bar Lemon (Cala Fonts) Restaurants - Anna Y Pepe’s- tapas restaurant- great for vegetarians* - Anna Luisas (Cala Fonts) - awesome seafood - Nikki's (Cala Fonts) - Great fresh fish, Ginge likes the steak - Cantina (Isla Del Rei) - Beautiful restaurant, accesable from Mahon by water taxi.

Isla Del Rei

Isla Del Rei

Island in the middle of the bay, to get there take a water taxi or yellow boat from Mahon port. On the island is a lovely restaurant called cantina which is situated in a dreamy outside area under trees overlooking the water. You can also take a pre/post food stroll around the modern art museum on the island which usually has free exhibits and take a look at the historic war hospital. There’s a path all way around the island to walk which is also where Tom got down on one knee to propose overlooking Mahon harbour

Es Grau

Es Grau

Es Grau is a little town on the north side of the island, approx 15 mins drive from Mahon. Here you’ll find a lovely beach and great spots to chill/swim, as well as a nature reserve with a lovely walk through forests and up to beach view points. Look out for the wild tortoises that live in the undergrowth on the forest trail!
