For years, we moved in the same circles - both part of an organization, AFCEA International, where we volunteered at different chapters, but kept attending the same events, attending the same panels, sharing space without ever realizing it. We were in the same rooms, at the same receptions, even paused at the same hors d'oeuvres table more than once. But somehow... we never met. Then one day, in May 2023, at another one of these AFCEA events, Tom's son, who was helping to run the event, said, "Dad, there's someone you really need to meet." And just like that... Everything changed! That first conversation turned into hours, those hours turned into days, and then into flights, late-night talks, long drives (and some singing), and laughter that always seemed to come easily. We became best friends, traveling together to vineyards in Florence, supporting each other as we hiked the quiet trails in Pennsylvania, and love blossomed on the beaches and hills of Hawaii. But no matter where we went, it always felt like we were just getting closer to home. Some love stories happen all at once. Ours was always there-waiting patiently for the right moment. Maybe it was timing. Maybe instinct. Or maybe, we just needed to pass through the right doors first. They say that the number 9 represents "rebirth", and that the thirteenth moon is the "Blue moon" - the rare one- the one that marks renewal and change. And in the year 2025, that symbolism repeats itself again and again. For us, September 13, 2025 is not just our wedding, it is our return to a fresh beginning.
