Why Atlantic City?

Answer

We wanted somewhere that it would be reasonable for folks to get to with people traveling from mainly the northeast, Richmond and Tampa. Tom has memories of going to the Shore with his family; Becca's grandparents retired to Atlantic City, so she spent many weekends, and eventually summers, exploring the boardwalk, beach, and occasionally a casino. AC has so much to do in just a small area - beaches, casinos, entertainment, lodging options - we thought it would be a perfect place to celebrate with our family and friends.

What about kids?

Answer

We love your kids, but we want a kid-free ceremony and party. Jackson will be there until the toasts/first dances, but we will be looking to have someone chill with him for the evening in the hotel room. If you have a teenager who would like to make the journey, and get some cash to hang with a pretty dope 10 year old, let us know! If you are bringing the kiddos for the trip and will need child care for the ceremony and reception, please let us know and will do our best to assist.

Really, Friday night?

Answer

Yes! What better way to kick off a weekend?! We hope you will enjoy taking advantage of a long weekend. Also, when traveling down, please remember that Shore traffic on a Friday in July can suck. We don't want you running in with no time to spare.

We are very excited to continue our journey together as married partners, and a name doesn't make that so. We will have individually been Becca Carr and Thomas Grom for over 40 years by the time we make it legal, and being married doesn't change our personal identities. Both of us take pride in our names, for some different reasons, and neither of us want to lose that.

Dress code?

Answer

Semi-formal; no black tie required, so think more Homecoming than Prom. Put on a party dress and your dancing shoes! HOWEVER, if you want to bougie it up, we aren't gonna stop you. Bust out that old bridesmaid dress you liked, but you thought you'd never wear again. Throw on that tux in your closet if you want. We know we have friends who enjoy cosplay, theme dressing and Disney Bounding - we welcome all of your lewks! Look good, feel good. Party it up! Our wedding colors are black and grey.

How long will everyone be there?

Answer

We will be in town starting Wednesday until at least Sunday. We invite everyone to take advantage of a Friday night party to enjoy an extra day at the beach. We look forward to planning adventures with everyone for Saturday night as well!

When and where is the bridal shower?

Answer

We ain't got time for that. Becca and Tom have been lucky enough to have generous family and friends who have contributed to their home. With all the travel, cost and stress around the wedding itself, we prefer that you put that time and energy into enjoying the wedding celebration weekend (because that is what we are going to do).
