Train

Amtrak to Penn Station, Baltimore

Penn Station's location is convenient for getting to most anywhere in downtown Baltimore. It also happens to be a very budget-friendly Uber ride away from our venue (it's about a 7 minute drive). Coming from New York The Amtrak train is probably the most convenient and comfortable way to get from New York to Baltimore. The North East Regional line typically takes about 2 hours and 45 minutes from Penn Station, NYC to Penn Station, Baltimore, while the Acela is about 2 hours and 15 minutes. If you're planning to travel by train it is best to buy in advance — tickets can get pretty expensive. Coming from DC From DC's Union Station to Baltimore the Amtrak train is typically only 40 minutes on the North East Regional line or 30 minutes on the Acela. Prices when bought in advance can be very reasonable. However, if you're not in a rush, the MARC commuter train is $8 and it takes about an hour.

Details below were for original wedding date. We'll update the information below as we work on rescheduling everything. We've reserved a block of rooms at Hyatt Place Baltimore Inner Harbor for May 30th, and a limited block at the same hotel for May 29th as well for guests planning on coming to Baltimore the day before our wedding. The rooms are $149/night for a room with a king size bed and pullout couch, or $159/night for two queen size beds. The hotel is an easy walking distance to the restaurants, bars, and shopping in Fells Point and Little Italy, and also close to the tourist sites in the Inner Harbor. To reserve the room follow the link below and input the dates you wish to stay — the code should generate automatically. You can also call 888-492-8847 and ask to book with the Wright-Griffith block. If you wish to park at the hotel the rate for the block is $30/day.

Travel Note

Where else to stay

While we will be planning on staying at Hyatt Pace Inner Harbor, we know some people may prefer to stay in an AirBnB or a hotel that might better suit their own needs. There are several other hotels in the Inner Harbor that are all within a very close walk to the Hyatt if you're hoping to stay nearby other out-of-towners. For AirBnB we recommend looking for accommodations in Hampden (where our venue is), Charles Village, Fells Point (where the hotel is), or Federal Hill. These neighborhoods all offer some fun restaurants, bars, shopping, etc., and are usually safe. However, please do your due diligence in double checking the locations and reviews before booking — we've noticed that some listings are misleading about the neighborhood, and in Baltimore you really can find yourself in an unsafe location just by going a few blocks away from the beaten path.

Flight

Flying into BWI

If you are flying, the closest airport is BWI. BWI is a little less than a 30 minute drive to our venue. Rental cars are plentiful, or you can take the Amtrak or MARC train from the airport to Baltimore Penn Station, where you can catch a cheap Uber ride. The Light Rail also runs from BWI into Baltimore and makes many stops around the city that may be convenient for you depending on where you stay — the closest stop to the venue is Woodberry Station (around a 5 minute drive to The Elm).
