FAQs

The Wedding Website of Julie Direso and Gustav Tollemar
There are often lots of questions when it comes to a destination wedding and we're here to help! If you have questions about the stay, accommodations, or payment plans, please contact Nancy Cronin (603-889-9133). If you have other questions about the wedding, please contact Julie (610-564-2234).
Question

How do I make the reservation?

Answer

All reservations must be made through Nancy Cronin at Travel Leaders. You can either call her at 603-889-9133 or you can email her at ncronin@travelleaders.com. A deposit of $500 per room is the first step ($500 for single occupancy, $250 each for double, $167 for triple). After that, she can work with you on payment plans or you can just pay the remaining balance.

Question

Can I book through an external vacation site or through the resort directly?

Answer

No. All reservations must be made through Nancy. She organized the contract and is the keeper of the rates we've been given. If Excellence has a lesser room rate for rooms outside of the contract that is better than the prices listed on the letter distributed with the save the dates, please let Nancy know as she will do her best to price match.

Question

Can I book another hotel and still attend your wedding at Excellence El Carmen?

Answer

Unfortunately, no. Excellence El Carmen has a rule about a certain percentage of the guests required to stay on-site. Because of this, we are asking that all guests stay at this resort.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

All deposits should be made by 11/22/2019. Final payments should be made by 1/20/2020. Reservations can be made after that. However, the prices and availability of the rooms are subject to change. The room prices tend to increase the closer to the date(s) of travel so booking early is preferable.

Question

What is included in the price?

Answer

Basically everything! Food and Drink: 1. Full breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks each day (10 à la carte restaurants, 1 buffet, a snack grill, food truck, takeaway wood-oven pizza, juice bar, and café on-site) 2. Unlimited premium international and domestic alcoholic beverages and soft drinks (16 bars on-site-- what a deal! Many of us are capable of racking up a $200 bar tab without a problem so the price basically pays for itself.) 3. 24-hour room service 4. Pool and beach waiter service Activities: 5. Use of fully equipped fitness center and exercise classes 6. Daily activities including non-motorized water sports (sailing, windsurfing, sea kayaking, paddle board, snorkeling gear, introductory scuba lesson, tennis clinics) 7. Nightly entertainment Miscellaneous: 8. Resort-wide Wi-Fi 9. All taxes and gratuities.

Question

What is NOT included in the price?

Answer

1. Airfare-- be strategic here! Prices can go as low as $200 round-trip from NYC if you don't mind a layover. They vary though so book tactically! 2. Transit to/from the airport-- you can book this through Nancy or do your own research. These prices range from $30 round-trip per person and up. Make sure you are searching for the Uvero Alto hotel district when booking. You can book this through Nancy if you so choose. 3. Outside excursions-- We are typically "We paid for an all-inclusive and we like pina coladas too much to leave the resort"-type vacationers. You don't have to be though! There are lots of outside excursions in Punta Cana. We will be hosting a group catamaran/snorkeling trip on Sunday afternoon. There is a Seasons Tours kiosk in the main lobby. You can also check about excursions with the concierge when you arrive or submit an inquiry on the website.

Question

How long should I stay?

Answer

There is a 3-night minimum to stay in the block. Most people tend to stay 4 nights for a destination wedding but it varies. We believe that most people will stay from Thursday, April 23rd to Monday April, 27th (4 nights). All of this is up to you!

Question

What is the Excellence Club?

Answer

The Excellence Club has similar amenities with a few upgrades. Generally, rooms in this category are going to be closer to the beach. In addition, the following amenities are included: - Private lounge (7am to 11pm) with concierge service, smart buffets & bar service - Private restaurant for breakfast & dinner at Lounge - Upgraded liquor selection at select bars - Bvlgari toiletries - Upgraded minibar & room service menu - Private beach area (this is actually pretty cool-- if you're a "beach person", this is ideal) - Daily fruit & petit fours in room - Fresh flowers and sparkling wine in room upon arrival - Upgraded in-room premium liquor & wine bottle selection - Nespresso machine - One Aqua Wellness treatment per person per stay

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Yes! If your save the date was only addressed to you and you would like to bring a date, go for it. It's our wedding but it is YOUR vacation! Just let Julie or Goose know.

Question

Will I be getting a formal invitation in the mail?

Answer

Not an invitation per se. We will be sending out RSVP cards in early October. In addition, Nancy will be keeping an ongoing tab of those who have RSVP'ed by submitting deposits. No formal invitation is necessary so please don't wait for one to book-- book ASAP if you're planning on attending!

Question

What should I wear to the wedding?

Answer

Attire should align with the resort's policy on dress for dinner. No flip-flops, shorts, tank tops, or t-shirts. It's good practice anyway for the rest of the stay-- men need to wear long pants to dinner as a rule so same rules go for dinner at the wedding. Women can wear dresses, skirts, pants, etc.

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

If you are able to go on vacation to attend our wedding, we kindly request that you do not get us a gift. We are registered at Bloomingdales and Bed, Bath, and Beyond because some guests are insistent but PLEASE do not feel pressure to get a gift. Your presence is enough!

Question

Is there a wedding hashtag?

Answer

Yes! With a name like "Goose", the options were limitless. We ultimately decided on #Tollemarried and #JulieGotGoosebumps. Please use when posting anything to social media related to the wedding :)
