Some love stories start with a grand adventure — ours started with a swipe. On September 24, 2022, we matched on Tinder, not knowing that God had already been weaving our paths together for much longer. We’d lived just 8 minutes apart our entire lives, ran in similar circles, and somehow never crossed paths… until the exact right moment. From our very first date, we knew something was different. We laughed, talked for hours, and by the end of the night, we were inseparable — and we’ve been best friends ever since. RJ even told his friends that very first day, “I’m going to marry this girl.” Looking back, we can clearly see how God’s hand was in every detail — preparing each of us and aligning our lives for the perfect time to meet. This isn’t just our love story — it’s a story of faith, friendship, and the beautiful ways God brings people together when you least expect it.

On October 5, 2024, in true RJ fashion, the proposal was both spontaneous and incredibly thoughtful — perfectly us. We were heading to brunch in the heart of Richmond (our favorite kind of meal!). When we arrived, Sydne noticed the place was unusually quiet… it was just the two of us. As we sat down, RJ began to speak from his heart, sharing words filled with love and intention. Then, to Sydne’s complete surprise, he got down on one knee and popped the question! Overwhelmed with joy and emotion, Sydne said yes to forever. We spent the rest of the morning soaking it all in, celebrating the moment in the sweetest way — with a cozy, intimate brunch, just the two of us.
