It all started with Jessica joining a bowling league (reluctantly). Turns out Kyle was already a "master" bowler chasing that perfect 300. Every Wednesday night was bowling night. Before you knew it, Jess had invested a small fortune in bowling gear; ball, bag, shoes (all matching, of course). Kyle and Jess, having grown up in the same small town, had mutual friends and had met casually before. From the opposite side of the bowling alley, many, many lanes away, Jess and Kyle stole glimpses often, secretly hoping the other would come and say hello. Jessica, in all of her stubbornness, was not going to be first. Kyle, being the gentleman that he is, broke the ice by greeting Jessica at her lane. From the very first awkward hug to what has become an endless amount of laughter and love, Kyle and Jess were meant for each other!
A trip to Nashville had been planned for Jessica's 30th birthday. Kyle made a dinner reservation at a fancy steakhouse and requested a private room to celebrate the occasion. Earlier that day at the airbnb, while everyone was getting ready, Jess received a call from her dad. He and Stacey wanted to sing her happy birthday because they couldn't make the trip. All of a sudden the entire room was singing as they walked down the stairs. Dennis and Stacey were in Nashville! The whole group caravanned to the restaurant. The staff greeted and escorted everyone to the room. There are no words to describe how perfect it was! Jessica and Kyle were running on complete adrenaline, for very different reasons. The night was spent eating lots of food, drinking great wine, and reminiscing on life, love and friendships. After dessert, the group moved to the lounge area for presents. Kyle had already done SO MUCH for Jess, that she was shocked when he handed her a gift bag. In the gift bag was a book titled "The Story Of Us." Kyle asked Jess to read it aloud. Jess quickly realized it was a real life story of their journey together. The last page was a special note from Kyle to Jess where he said "I have one last question to ask you." In front of a few family members and close friends, Kyle got down on one knee and proposed. Jess cried... ugly cried... and OF COURSE said YES! Tears of happiness, hugs and congratulations filled the room! The newly engaged couple were so excited to share the news that they made a FaceTime call to eagerly awaiting loved ones back in CA. To top it off, the group finished the night at a karaoke bar singing and riding the mechanical bull!
