We recommend flying into Portland International Airport (PDX) for the quickest route. From PDX it is a 1 hour drive East along I-84 through the Colombia River Gorge National Scenic Area.
This drive takes you along a spectacular river canyon through a lush forested environment. The Colombia River Gorge is home to the highest concentration of waterfalls in North America, more than 90 in all! Amongst them includes one of the tallest year round waterfalls in the United States, Multnomah Falls. Many of the falls and various hikes can be accessed from I-84, or you can choose to drive for a portion along the parallel road, Colombia River Gorge Scenic Highway to witness even more of the beauty. We recommend planning extra time to explore on your way out to Hood River!

There are numerous rental car agencies available at PDX. Renting a car might be the easiest option for travel. The town of Hood River itself is fairly walk-able.

Street parking is paid by meter with a card and free after 6pm. Near the hotel there is a paid parking lot guests can use at the Mount Hood Railroad 110 Railroad Street, Hood River, OR 97031 This is paid by meter with a card for 15$ a day.
