It all began on the fifth floor of the Cal State Long Beach Library in October 2018, where Toben and Mia first met. Surrounded by mutual friends and the quiet rhythm of campus life, what started as a simple introduction soon became an easy friendship. In June 2019, during a group trip to Palm Springs, that friendship began to change. Between the conversations and shared moments, it became clear there was something more. Their best friend, Kayli, seemed to know it too—she sent them on a “quick errand” together, hoping they’d connect. She was right. Soon after, Toben asked Mia to lunch at La Crema Café in Seal Beach. From there, they spent the following months growing closer, navigating college, and building something meaningful together. On December 8, 2019, Mia said, “I love you” for the first time, and Toben (through his tears) said it back. A few weeks later, on New Year’s Day 2020, they made their relationship official. Six years later, that same connection has led them here—ready to begin their next chapter surrounded by the people they love most.
