Tyler and Jessica attended middle school and high school together in Beavercreek, Ohio but it wasn't until June of 2013 that the two went on their first date after being encouraged to join their friends on a double date at the Glen Helen Nature Preserve in Yellow Springs. Jessica fondly jokes that this is how you know she must have thought Tyler was cute because she was in a walking cast from having surgery the month before and still said yes to a hiking date! After school started in the Fall for Tyler's senior year and Jessica's junior year, the two decided to make it official. Tyler graduated from Beavercreek the following spring and attended Wright State for his first year of college, while Jessica finished up her senior year at Beavercreek. In the fall of 2015, Tyler moved to Columbus, OH to pursue a finance degree at The Ohio State University and Jessica moved to Lexington, KY to pursue an Integrated Strategic Communications degree at the University of Kentucky. Over the next few years, there were countless trips between Columbus and Lexington as they continued dating. Despite the distance and their busy schedules, they always supported each other... with Tyler attending countless Tri Delta sorority events and Jessica proudly cheering on the Buckeyes at Ohio Stadium. After graduating in 2018, Tyler moved around Ohio while working for Rush Enterprises, living in Columbus, Cincinnati, and Cleveland, while Jessica stayed at UK to get her Masters Degree. In spring of 2020, COVID-19 hit and the two found themselves living in the same city for the first time since high school! During this time, Jessica graduated from UK and got a job at Deloitte and Tyler accepted a job at Wright Patterson Airforce Base. Tyler, Jess, and Rue (Jess's childhood dog) bought their first house in Beavercreek in May of 2021 and spent the next year and a half renovating it with the help of their families. In May of 2022 they brought home Harley, a Great Dane puppy who has kept them busy since! On August 28, 2023, Tyler coordinated the proposal of Jess's dreams and asked her to marry him. Jess thought they were meeting friends for dinner, which Tyler had intentionally planned to be a romantic dinner for two at their favorite restaurant, The Pearl. Following dinner, a quick sunset walk around Goodale Park turned into the sweetest and perfectly intimate proposal (with Crista and Alex Osterhage hiding in the bushes to photograph it). This was followed by a surprise celebration at Brewdog where Tyler had all of their family and friends waiting! After Brewdog, Jessica and Tyler rode home with all of their favorite people in a rented passenger van and when they got home, their entire house was decorated, complete with banners, balloons, and bandanas for the dogs that said "She said yes." It was the best and happiest day... one Jessica lovingly notes was worth the 10 year wait! Tyler and Jessica are so excited to go back to Yellow Springs where it all started to celebrate their wedding day with the people that have supported and cheered them on throughout their lives and especially the last 11 years they've spent together!
