If you're arriving early, join us for drinks & hangs, location TBD! No pressure: it’s casual and optional! (eg it’s not catered or anything, just hanging around at a bar probably—y’all are on your own for drinks/snacks)

We have crafted a self-uniting ceremony for our wedding, made possible by Pennsylvania’s Quaker tradition. We share in the belief that all people hold an inner light and are equal in that regard. In that spirit, the right for joining in marriage belongs to the betrothed, rather than any single clergymember. This also means that everyone at the wedding is considered an officiant and a witness—congratulations! Our ceremony will include elements of Quaker meeting, though it will be programmed (i.e. not an open forum). We will begin in settling silence. Feel free to use the moments of silence during our ceremony as an opportunity to be mindful, meditate, or worship in any way that is meaningful to you. Some friends and family members will share poems, songs, and stories about love, life, and us. Then we'll cap off the ceremony with affirmations of love and commitment (and probably a smooch). We'll all shake hands and sign the marriage certificate!
