Question

Will there be food for different dietary restrictions?

Answer

All food served will be vegan and free of meat, fish, dairy, eggs and honey. Many items will also be gluten free. The wedding cake will be vegan and gluten free. All food will be organic.

Will I have to pay for drinks?

Answer

The cocktail reception will have an open bar and guests can order any drinks that are $20 and under. We will have our own private bar on the patio. You will only need to pay for drinks over $20 or if you want to order after the open bar has ended. Please feel free to tip the bartender.

What is the parking situation at the reception venue?

Answer

There will be valet parking for a small cost as well as limited metered street parking.

If I stay at the hotel, how do I get between there and the reception venue?

Answer

The hotel that we selected is a 1 minute walk from the reception venue.

How will the food be served?

Answer

Food at the reception will be served as passed bites. There will also be a guacamole, chips, and salsa bar.

What are the seating arrangements?

Answer

The reception will be cocktail style with standing room and some lounge seating. There will not be assigned seating. Feel free to move around and mingle.

Will someone be taking photos?

Answer

Vegan photographer Jenny Rolapp has been hired to cover all wedding events (engagement photos, micro ceremony, and cocktail reception). She will be present (with a partner photographer) taking photos for the duration of the cocktail reception.

Will there be a ceremony?

Answer

We will have a very small micro wedding ceremony with our families. It will be livestreamed for those unable to attend. We look forward to celebrating with all of our loved ones at the cocktail reception.

Will the reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The cocktail reception will be outdoors on the Gracias Madre patio. There will be shade. We expect it to be warm, since it is in May. However, there are heaters, if it does get chilly.

What should I wear?

Answer

We suggest dressing as you would for a cocktail party.

Can I bring a gift?

Answer

Click on the registry tab of this site if you would like to purchase a gift, contribute to the honeymoon spending fund, or make a donation to Farm Sanctuary on our behalf. Please make sure any gifts are vegan and cruelty free. However, what we want most is to celebrate with you all.

Who will officiate the wedding?

Answer

Our Unitarian Universalist minister, long time friend, (and fellow vegan) Tera Landers will officiate the wedding.
