Roy and Tish both went to Cal State Northridge for Undergrad. MySpace was still popular and often used by CSUN students to plan meet ups. Tish went with her roommate to a planned MySpace meetup with Roy at the Northridge Farmers Market. They walked around, ate, and Roy gave both girls a ride back to the dorms. Afterward, Roy made contact via AOL Instant messenger and they haven’t stopped talking since.

Roy and Tish had their first date at the Sherman Oaks Castle and played mini golf. Tish beat Roy by one stroke. Roy still claims he “let her win” to get under Tish’s skin. After, they had dinner at Jerry’s Deli.

Roy and Tish made things official 15 years ago on May 12 after only a couple weeks of dating. They will be married on their 15th dating anniversary.

Roy and Tish were dating and both living in the same apartment complex (but with different roommates) in Reseda. It was decided that Roy would move in with Tish and her roommate. The couple would have a series of interesting roommates that would share their old and somewhat rundown space. Eventually, they decided to get their own place and moved to Woodland Hills. They would go on to move around Southern California also living in DTLA and Santa Clarita and eventually settling in Pasadena where they have integrated into the community as members of Throop Church and founders of Pasadena Vegans. Along the way, they adopted three fur children (Bailey, Kailey, and Bella).

Roy was born in the Philippines but grew up in a small agricultural town on the Central Coast called Guadalupe with his brother and parents. He went off to Cal State Northridge and graduated with a Bachelor's in Economics. After college, he worked for a few years at a bank and then eventually began his long career in Market Research. He's currently the Director of Operations at his company and oversees research that focuses on underrepresented and marginalized communities. Roy loves most sports (including WWE), decadent plant-based foods, working out, being on the Throop Church Board (where he has served as Treasurer and President), and being a cat dad.

Tish was born and raised on the Central Coast in Santa Barbara. She has two sisters and is the middle child. She went went off to college in Orange County and attended Chapman University for some time. However, she would ultimately complete her Bachelor's in Sociology at Cal State Northridge. Tish has worked with individuals living with disabilities, did some economic justice work for a short time, and has served on the board of two animal rights nonprofits. She has a Master's in Public Administration and a Master's in Social Work. She eventually settled into a career in homeless services and currently serves as the Director of Street Outreach and Housing at Friends In Deed. Recently, she became a licensed clinical social worker. Tish loves spicy food, wine, animal advocacy, sunshine, festivals, bringing people together, and spending tine with her fur baby.
