Central Charters offers a 2 hour wildlife tour through Kachemak Bay. This family friendly outing is great for all ages! Homer is home to one of the worlds largest bird rookeries along with beautiful scenery. This is a great way to see the ocean, mountains and wildlife while not being an all day ordeal.

This is a truly once in a life time experience. A float plane takes you in to see grizzly bears in their natural habitat.
Walking the Spit
It is free! The Homer Spit has a multitude of stores to wander through right on the ocean. Here you can shop, walk the beach or explore the harbor in search of otters and plenty of boats. As you wander this is also where you can find sea kayaking, paddle boards and many other adventures.

Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center (Islands and Ocean)
Islands and Oceans guests can explore hands-on exhibits, watch short films, and learn about the seabirds, marine mammals, and ecosystems that make this part of Alaska so extraordinary. Great for a rainy day or all ages.
Diamond Creek Trailhead
This beautiful hike takes you along a bluff side all the way to the ocean. If you hike this at low tide you can walk miles in either direction (but watch the tides!). It is roughly 2 miles out and back with 730 feet of elevation change. It's all downhill to start, and all uphill to end.
Bear Creek Winery
A beautiful, quiet and delicious get away. Homer's own winery is a great stop for a quick 10 dollar wine tasting. All wines are made locally.
Central Charters & Tours- A Trip to Seldovia
A wildlife tour and rural town! This two for one is a 9-5 family friendly trip. A boat picks you up from the Homer harbor to take you on a wildlife tour to see birds, otters and whales if they come out to play. The boat drops you in Seldovia, a small rural town with cute shops, good food and great hikes. The boat then takes you back to the Homer harbor after a day of fun.
