We're getting married!

Drishtant and Tianna met through mutual friends on a snowy winter day. Tianna was with their friends Gabrielle and A (Drish's best man), and A invited Drish to hang out with them. Tianna enjoyed getting to know Drish but was not interested at first. Drish, on the other hand, was smitten. An interesting series of events followed, including Tianna trying to set up Drish with a friend (you'll hear all about that at the wedding). Thankfully, that didn't work out. Through some guitar playing and smooth talking, Drish eventually convinced Tianna to give him a shot and in a matter of weeks, they knew that they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together.

In April 2020, Drishtant and Tianna had to leave Liberty and go their separate ways because of COVID. The decision to leave campus was very sudden and difficult, as they had spent almost every day together for the past two years. They visited each other in August, and then in September 2020, Drish moved back to India. The move was a big step of faith for both Drish and Tianna. They had no idea when they would be able to see each other again because travel between India and the US was closed. Drish had a flight ticket for April 2021, but he tested positive for COVID the day before his flight. He rescheduled for two weeks after, but travel was shut off the day before his flight again. This time was filled with doubts and questions, but they trusted God and pushed through. They were confident that the Lord would sustain them and eventually reunite them, although they had no idea when that would be. At long last, travel was opened in November, after seven months of not knowing when they would see each other. The 14 months apart that Drish and Tianna experienced was a blessing in disguise and is proof of God's faithfulness and blessing over their relationship.

After a long wait, Drishtant was able to visit the US and see Tianna. Drish had purchased a ring in India and was planning out an elaborate proposal for her. In the afternoon on November 19th, Drish was at Tianna's apartment. Little did Tianna know that their friends, Marcus, Didier, Mikayla, and Tiffany, were waiting in a car outside. Drishtant pretended like he had left his wallet behind in Tianna's car and left to go get it and drove off with Mikayla to set up the location for the proposal! Meanwhile, Marcus, Didier, and Tiffany showed up at Tianna's apartment and gave her a note card with a clue that began the scavenger hunt that Drish had planned for her. Every clue led Tianna to a memorable place from their relationship until the final clue required her to be blindfolded. She was driven to a beautiful hill that overlooked all of downtown Lynchburg where Drish was waiting for her. A rather long proposal speech mixed with some tears followed and Tianna said, "yes!" This was a long awaited proposal and a testament to God's faithfulness and perfect timing.
