The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic makes planning large events difficult. We are monitoring the situation closely, and are currently operating under the assumption that we will be able to hold a full-scale wedding in September. If COVID restrictions prohibit all our guests from attending, we will hold a small ceremony with just immediate family and the bridal party, and will postpone the reception until it is safe for all guests to attend. We will provide updates as it gets closer to the big day! We encourage all guests to follow state and CDC guidelines. You can learn more about Rhode Island's guidelines on covid.ri.gov or reopeningri.com. We would like to emphasize that if you do not feel comfortable attending the wedding, we completely understand. We care about you, and your health and safety in is the priority. For those who are unable to attend in person, there will be a livestream of the ceremony available.
We kindly request that you RSVP by Saturday, August 28, 2021, but the sooner, the better!
There are a number of places throughout RI where locals and visitors can get a COVID-19 test for free. Visit https://covid.ri.gov/testing to find a testing location that works best for you.
For vaccinated friends and family: you are welcome to get tested as you feel comfortable. See "Where can I get a COVID-19 test?" for further instructions. For unvaccinated friends and family: per Rhode Island state guidelines, you are encouraged to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of September 18, 2021. See "Where can I get a COVID-19 test?" for further instructions.
For vaccinated friends and family: you are welcome to wear a mask as you feel comfortable. For any unvaccinated friends and family: per Rhode Island state guidelines, you should continue to wear a mask indoors near anyone you don't live with and outdoors in crowded spaces.
Suggested dress code is cocktail attire (e.g. cocktail dresses, LBDs, dressy jumpsuits, and dark suits). As weather can be finnicky in New England—especially around a change of season, it may very well be high 70's during the day and low 50's in the evening—feel free to dress comfortably and accordingly. Some or all of the reception may end up being on a lawn, so appropriate footwear is suggested too. Ultimately, we hope you wear whatever makes you feel fabulous.
We ask that you not bring extra guests. While we would be delighted to celebrate with more of our friends and family as well as their significant others, our goal is to limit the number of attendees given likely restrictions on large gatherings and strict capacities at our venues.
Any children who can fit on your lap, in a carrier, or otherwise do not need an extra seat are welcome to attend. However, in the interest of capacity, we unfortunately must ask any children who would require an extra seat to please refrain from attending.
In addition to the hotels mentioned in the Travel section, there are a number of lovely inns in Newport and the surrounding area! However, be aware that many have a two-day minimum stay.
Currently, the wedding is scheduled on the same weekend as the Newport International Boat Show—this may mean more crowds and a high demand for lodging, so if you plan to stay in Newport, we encourage you to book your accommodations soon.
St. Veronica Chapel has a large parking lot, so there will be plenty of spaces available at the ceremony!
There is a smaller parking lot by the Redwood library, so there will be some parking available at the reception. However, we do encourage you to carpool or ride-share if possible.
