How We Met

So this story has been contested countless of times, but the truth is Hari was feeling Tim at a Black queer picnic while Tim was already in a relationship. These are just the fax everyone—no printa. Tim later split from said relationship and went searching for a space to place his article. Tim heard Hari was all senior editorial, all founder of Racebaitr and ish, so Tim asked if Hari would publish him. Hari was widdit before even reading one sentence, but Tim couldn't front, he thought ol' nerdy, big worded, glasses in the face Hari was a cutie—so he shot a few baskets. First, Tim asked Hari if he wanted to go kickboxing. Truly, Tim was just trying to see a lil bit of that body-ody. But Hari was feeling sick, so he ruined it. Second, Tim sent Hari the song "Future Baby Mama" by Jacquees. Tim was over all the subtlety, and was like bump it, let's be a bit twenty-first century gay and have "aye-bay-bay." Third, Tim asked Hari to dinner, and showed Hari a hole on the inside of his jeans when he got there. Tim told Hari that the hole just developed throughout the day, but that was a lie, the hole been there—he just wanted Hari to some of his body-ody-ody. While getting ready to depart, Tim going downtown, Hari going up, Tim started getting a little nervous. Hari stood at the platform saying bye, making his lips all dewy and kissable and ish, but Tim was too shook to catch the hint, so he just—dipped. It was awkward, and Tim went from feeling like a playa, to like la playa, like he was a big-25-year-old-kid who belonged in a sandpit. But then they had a second date, and Hari kissed Tim the moment he saw him. And Tim was hype. And Hari was kind—knowing that Tim was a little scary, and would need some help this time. And then somethin, somethin, somethin... Tim asked Hari to be his boyfriend. Somethin, somethin, somethin... Hari asked Tim to live with him. Somethin, somethin... Woopty woop... We started from the bottom now we're here. #HariSaysIDuWhite
