Learn more about my home state at the Indiana state museum! Located right off of Canal Walk in downtown Indianapolis, there's always something exciting to see here. View one of the many permanent or rotating exhibits (including a gallery of famous Hoosiers), have lunch at the cafe, or take in a show at the IMAX theatre. Whatever you choose to do, you'll quickly see that there is indeed more than corn in Indiana
Also known as the place where I proposed to Bianca, Newfields was formerly known as the Indianapolis Museum of Art and Gardens (a bit of a mouthful, I know. You see why they changed it), this amazing art museum set on beautiful grounds always has fun and interesting exhibits from religious art of Medieval Europe to graffiti from 1970's New York. Take in all four floors of art exhibits, play a round of miniature golf, and take a stroll through the beautiful grounds and gardens.
One of our favourite places to grab a healthy bite, or a cold pint of beer is Upland Brewery. There are a couple of locations in the Indianapolis area. We mostly frequent the one in Carmel, but we're excited that a new location has opened on Prospect Street, right in Fountain Square in Indianapolis. Their staff is friendly, their craft beers are cold and frothy, and their pub fries are to die for!
One of the things that we bonded over was our love of films. Both classic and modern, we love to see a good movie on the big screen. And what's better than seeing a movie? Seeing a movie with good food and a cold pint of course! Flix Brewhouse offers a wide selection of house-brewed, award winning, beer and pub food. Their seats are comfortable and their audio and video equipment is state of the art. If you're looking to catch a film while you're in town, Flix is the place you want to be. We recommend the meat lover's pizza and the southwest chicken salad wrap.
By far the place we spend the most time in Indianapolis would be our home parish, Holy Rosary Catholic Church. As a former Anglican, I am a member of Saint Joseph of Arimathea Ordinariate community, which is currently hosted by the gracious parishioners and clergy of Holy Rosary. We invite you to come and worship with us on Sunday, October 27th at 8:00 AM, before we leave for our honeymoon.
