We met during a semester abroad in Seville, Spain - a semester filled with great friends, fun adventures, too many rebujitos, and some occasional studying... sorry mom & dad! Throughout that crazy semester, we first became friends and formed our Spanish home away from home with an amazing group of people. Navigating our host families, fumbling through our Spanish, missing flights/train rides/classes... we quickly grew close. It wasn't until the end of our time in Seville that we realized saying goodbye would be a little harder than we anticipated. Fast forward 8 years later - after 3.5 years of long distance, countless Indy/NYC/Nashville trips, a joint move to Austin, a pup, and a house later... we're finally doin' the damn thing.

Despite the Austin real estate market... we purchased our first home last year, and Tim had arranged for us to have pictures taken. Which should have been an easy tip off, but I was oblivious. Our dear friend Madi "offered" to take the pictures for us. In return we took her out to eat at one of our favorite east side spots, Buenos Aires. As we drove up to the house after dinner, I thought our new neighbors had pranked us. There were string lights and candles and balloons taking over our front porch. It wasn't until I saw the rose petals that I realized what was happening. Tim jokes that I shouldn't have been so shocked, but I truly couldn't have been more surprised. He got down on one knee - Madi snapping away with her camera, Penny as confused as ever - and he asked me to marry him. Somewhere between my disbelief and almost passing out, I was able to give him an easy yes. As if I wasn't impressed already, he led me through the house to our backyard where both our parents and my best friend Kristen were waiting for us. His parents flying from Massachusetts, mine driving from Florida (after a bout with COVID no less...), and Kristen driving all the way yonder from Midland, TX. I'm a lucky gal. Tim's best friends Carroll and Levi joined in on the fun from San Antonio and we had the best weekend celebrating our engagement. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter of our lives with you. See you in Austin!
