How We Met

7.26.15

Depending on whom you ask, different friends take credit for Maggie and Tim’s impending nuptials. Alex Hall insists that there would be no "Maggie and Tim" without her. After all, she introduced the two after telling Tim for months that he had to meet her best friend Maggie. But Sarah Siegel claims just as much responsibility for the two ending up together. She pushed Tim to ask Maggie out and constantly whispered in Maggie’s ear that she and Tim would make the perfect couple. Not to be left out, Talon Brown tells anyone and everyone that he first recognized the connection between the two from Day 1. If it weren’t for his nagging, he maintains that Tim would’ve never gone for it with Maggie. So, if you see these three arguing at the wedding, you'll know why. Regardless of who gets the credit, Tim and Maggie are forever indebted to each of them. Maggie and Tim's story begins when the two met on Maggie’s birthday in July 2015. They developed a strong friendship from the start. Every time they hung out with each other, they seemed to speak in their own language and laughed so hard that their ribs hurt. Both secretly wondered whether their friendship could actually be something more. About a year and a half later, Tim decided to take the risk of ruining that friendship and asked Maggie out to dinner. The date went well. Really well. In fact, it went so well that Maggie forgot to cancel plans to meet her friends at trivia after dinner, which was her escape plan in case the date didn't go well. Tim tagged along with Maggie to trivia with her friends, and he helped lead the team to an amazing 7th place finish. Maggie knew then and there that he was the one.

The Proposal

6.14.19

Many ski trips, beach days, burger Fridays, and mai tais later, Tim decided to propose to Maggie. But first, he had to get permission from Maggie’s Dad, Ken. He waited until Ken was well into his first mai tai and then told him he couldn’t imagine the rest of his life without Maggie. Maybe Ken believed Tim or maybe it was Dennis’s magic mai tai, but Ken stuck out his hand and said, “You got a deal!” Tim then began planning the proposal in Colorado that next month. Maggie thought the trip was for their friend Sarah’s 30th birthday, but Tim had other ideas. He and Sarah devised a sneaky plan where, midway through their hike up to Sapphire Point, Sarah would take a “phone call” and give Tim the alone time he needed to pop the question. However, just as they were about to hike, it started hailing. Not raining, HAILING. Internally, Tim was freaking out, but he remained cool and told Maggie they should still go on the hike after the hail stopped. After all, he had also planned for Maggie’s family and some friends to surprise Maggie after the hike, and there was no delaying this proposal now. As they approached the Point overlooking Lake Dillon, Tim gave Sarah a little thumbs up, and she said, “I need to take this call.” A minute later, Tim pretended like he needed to get something out of his backpack and got down on one knee. Maggie, however, was too distracted by the chipmunks running around to notice Tim kneeling. But when she finally turned around and realized what was happening, she began saying, “Oh my god!” over and over again. To this day, Maggie doesn’t really know if she actually said “yes.” Sarah snapped the picture below of Tim on one knee, Maggie in complete shock, and a chipmunk taking in the special moment. The newly engaged couple then met Maggie’s family and friends at a brewery and proceeded to celebrate all weekend.
