Hotel
We chose the Holiday Inn as the headquarters for our wedding weekend because of it's fabulous location. Situated on Lexington's beautiful main street which offers a fabulous overall view of the town we have chosen as our home. It is convenient to both our home and our wedding venue while offering a great selection of restaurants, fun things to do and convenient shopping for forgotten items. We know you will enjoy your stay.

O'Hara's Public House @ 131 East Main Street - it's just what it sounds like, a fabulous Irish Pub offering some of the best food in Lexington. The Shoppes at Flight Deck Lizard's Thicket @ 4616 Augusta Road - If you are looking for down home southern cooking this is your spot. Don't expect light bites here, they consider corn fritters and fried okra as vegetable sides. Another Broken Egg @ 931 North Lake Drive - If you are looking for a fancy breakfast spot complete with mimosas and bloodymarys this is our top pick! It's one of the pricier breakfast picks but it's so worth it. Eggs Up Grill @ 205 Columbia Ave is another great breakfast option. Papa Gios @ 1965 Augusta Highway is hands down the best Italian around. We suggest going for a sit down meal but would not recommend delivery. San Jose @ 1937 Augusta Highway is our top pick for Mexican food. Beware, the portions are HUGE! Marcos is our top Pizza pick Don't worry about memorizing our list, we are gathering menus to add to our information packets that you will receive at check-in.

Lexington and the surrounding area is packed full of fun things to do, so if you are vacationing while you are here, we are listing some great options to check out Ice House Amphitheater is just up the road from the Holiday Inn. They offer great events from The Farmers Market to concerts. Check out there schedule of events @ www.icehouseamphitheater.com Craft Axe Throwing is also close by on Main Street Second Wave Coffee and Books - don't expect much in the way of books but if you are looking for a good cup of coffee or an adult beverage you are looking in the right direction. They also have outdoor fire pits and lawn games. It's a pretty neat spot to unwind. Obviously a visit to Lake Murray should make your list. You will get a glimpse on your ride to the wedding but is is definitely worth a longer visit. Riverbanks Zoo & Garden in Columbia always makes our list of the top things to do. It's a small town zoo with a huge impact! Warning to parents traveling with kids, the amusement rides and climbing/zipline zone come with an additional cost. It's about a 20 minute ride and you'll get a glimpse of downtown Columbia. EdVenture children's museum is on the outskirts of downtown Columbia. It's always a hit with the kids. Lexington is also home to several parks if you are looking for an outdoor adventure. We suggest the newly refurbished Virginia Hylton Park which has a great play area for the kiddos. A more laid back option that is one of our favorites is Gibson Pond Park. It's a beautiful spot to bring a coffee or picnic lunch. If your looking for something a little bigger Saluda Shoals park is not far. And if you get a chance and don't mind the drive, check out Sesquicentennial State Park in Columbia.
