Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Tim Becker and Damien McKinney
We’re so excited to share a few of our favorite places in and around Brevard. Whether you want to spend the day hiking, biking, chasing waterfalls, exploring downtown, or just finding a great place to eat and relax, there is so much to enjoy here. We’ve put together some of our favorite outdoor spots, restaurants, breweries, coffee shops, and local places we think are worth checking out while you’re in town. We hope you have a chance to explore a little and enjoy some of the things that make this area so special to us.

Blue Ridge Parkway

3884 Blue Ridge Parkway, Asheville, NC 28803

If you have a little extra time, a drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway is one of the best ways to experience the mountains. The Parkway offers incredible views, scenic overlooks, hiking trails, and plenty of places to stop and take it all in. It’s especially beautiful in the fall, so even a short drive is well worth it while you’re in the area.

Pisgah Bakehouse

1980 Asheville Highway, Brevard, NC 28712

Pisgah Bakehouse is one of our favorite stops in the area. We especially love going for breakfast, but it’s also a great spot for lunch, with really good pizza and a relaxed, casual atmosphere. It’s an easy place to stop before or after a morning exploring Pisgah, and definitely one we recommend while you’re in town.

Morning Social

170 King Street, Brevard, NC 28712

Morning Social is a great breakfast spot in downtown Brevard and one of our favorites for an easy morning meal. They have a really good mix of breakfast classics, coffee, and lighter options, all in a bright, relaxed setting. It’s a great place to start the day before exploring town or heading out into the mountains.

Dupont State Recreational Forest

Triple Falls Trail, Hendersonville, NC 28739

DuPont State Recreational Forest is one of the best places in the area to spend a few hours outdoors. It’s especially known for its beautiful waterfalls, including High Falls, Triple Falls, and Hooker Falls, with scenic trails connecting them. You can see several of the waterfalls in one outing, making it a great choice if you want an easy way to experience some of the most beautiful scenery in the mountains.

Looking Glass Falls

U.S. 276, Brevard, NC 28712

Looking Glass Falls is one of the most beautiful and easily accessible waterfalls in the area. It’s right off the road in Pisgah National Forest, so it’s a perfect stop if you want to see an impressive waterfall without committing to a hike. There are steps down to a viewing area near the base, and it’s an easy place to add to a scenic drive through Pisgah.

Shopping in Downtown Brevard, North Carolina

Downtown Brevard is a great place to spend a little time wandering, shopping, and taking in the town. You’ll find a mix of locally owned boutiques, art galleries, outdoor shops, home stores, and plenty of places to stop for coffee or a bite along the way. It’s easy to explore on foot and a fun way to spend a relaxed afternoon between all the outdoor adventures.

Wild Morel

204 West Main Street, Brevard, NC 28712

Wild Morel is one of our favorite spots for a special dinner in Brevard. Set in a cozy mountain cottage on Main Street, the menu features seasonal, locally sourced dishes with French and Italian influences, along with a great wine selection. It feels elevated without being overly formal and is a wonderful choice for a relaxed evening out. We recommend making a reservation in advance.

Oskar Blues Brewery Taproom

342 Mountain Industrial Drive, Brevard, NC 28712

Oskar Blues is a fun, laid-back stop for a beer while you’re in the Brevard area. The brewery has a casual atmosphere, plenty of outdoor space, and a wide selection of beers on tap. It’s a great place to relax after a hike or bike ride, hang out with friends, and enjoy the easygoing mountain-town vibe.
