There are great views of the famous grain elevators and the General Mills factory nearby that makes everything smell like Cheerios!

Niagara Falls

Less than 30 minutes from downtown Buffalo, Niagara Falls is a must if you haven't been there before. The American side gets you right up next to the falls for great views within a fully renovated state park. To get the full experience, take the Maid of the Mist boat tour or visit the Cave of the Winds to get behind the falls. If you are planning to go to the Canadian side, you will need a passport to get across the border. Be sure to leave plenty of time to go through customs when coming back.

Trailhead Niagara Gorge Hiking Trail

The Niagara Gorge hiking trail is one of our favorite spots in the area! This moderate hike gets you right up to the powerful Niagara River and has amazing scenery along the way.

Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls USA

The outlet mall, located in Niagara Falls, NY, is a great way to spend a rainy day.

Eternal Flame Falls

The eternal flame hike is a short trail that culminates at a waterfall with an eternal flame underneath it. There are some wet spots along the way so just keep that in mind when packing for this hike. Every once in a while, the flame goes out. If this happens, just ask someone for a lighter to relight the natural gas leak under the falls.

Visit the Buffalo City Hall observation deck for great views of the city and Lake Erie.

Lockport Locks & Erie Canal Cruises

Fully immersive experience of the famous Erie Canal lock system. Check out the New York Beer Project on the way back for a cool new brewery and restaurant.

Duff's Famous Wings

Best chicken wings in Buffalo...hands down This is the original location but there are others in the area so do a Google Maps search to find one closest to you.

Buffalo Marathon

If you're feeling ambitious, run in the Buffalo Marathon on Sunday before the wedding. For the normal people out there, take up a spot along the route to cheer on the runners as they go by.
