The Proposal!
Devin and I started working at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital in 2016. We worked in different departments and crossed paths often, however, we somehow always missed each other. It wasn't until December 2017 when I started working in the Emergency department and our friend Jazmine introduced us. Devin swears I was mean, but I don't recall lol! Anytime we saw each other from that point we would casually speak. Then one day I was extremely tired and he left work without telling me to buy a blue-berry 5-hour energy shot for me. It was at that moment I knew I had to have him in my life. I returned the favor the next day by cooking him lunch for work. I must say the curry chicken stole his heart lol. We quickly became the best of friends and would spend most of our time at work around each other. We would text each other throughout our entire shift then wait for each other after work to hang out for a bit. We did this for about 3 months then started going on breakfast dates after work and dinner dates during the evening. We became inseparable! We traveled to so many places together. He introduced me to his parents on thanksgivings day in 2018 and finally asked me to be his lady after bringing in the new year together on January 1, 2019. I always wanted my person to treat me the way my dad treated my mom. Over the years Devin showed me he would do just that and more. I knew he was my soulmate because he loves me unconditionally, the same way my dad loves my mom. Devin is my forever, and I am honored to be his future wife!
From the first time I laid eyes on her in the emergency department I knew she was the one. I asked a co-worker "Damn, who is that?!!" even though she was looking mean, but me naturally loving the energy and the way she was carrying herself, because she looked like she was about her business and no bs, I decided to make a move. I finally got my chance to talk to her and she took my soul from that moment! My work days quickly went from the repetitive days at work dealing with the same ole things, to me wanting to go to work just to see this beautiful woman who had her hair straightened, eyebrows done, lotion on, smelling good and skin glistening!! We became best friends, always there to listen to each other’s problems, and be the smile or laughter each other needed to get us through the day. We had numerous of dates that led us to realize how much we loved food! That’s our problem now lol, but we working on it!!! Let me tell y’all about how she cooked for me one day and brought me Curry Chicken!! It was to die for!! I wasn’t the type who even eat rice, but that day changed my life forever. Seeing, talking, and being with this woman each and every day is a joy to me that brings a smile to my face each and every day. I never thought I would find a love like this ever. I didn’t even think it was possible. It is truly a blessing to soon be able to call this woman my wife. I could keep writing for days about this woman, I swear, and she knows I hate to write, but to tell the world about this woman, I would do it a million more times, over and over again!!
