Oscar’s Perspective: It was the Fall of 2010, I was a Sophmore in highschool and I was excited for a new year. I had no idea that I was going to meet my wife in P.E. class. Normally, when people think of meeting their soulmate, they usually think that it would happen somewhere romantic. Maybe in a new city, maybe when they’re older in college, or maybe when they’re at a coffee shop. Nope, it was in P.E. class for me. My shirt was baggy and my shorts were too long on me. But maybe that worked in my favor because for whatever reason, everytime I would make a silly joke to my friends, Tiffany would overhear and giggle to herself. Since she would always laugh at my jokes, we quickly became friends. Time flies and next thing you know, we’re in college. My eyes were glued to my phone. There were only 3 things I was interested in: Pokemon, Smash Bros., and replying to Tiffany’s text message. Like seriously, I would always wait for her to respond. That’s when it became clear to me that this girl was different. This girl was special and someone I deeply cared about. Turns out, she felt the same way about me (which would explain why her face was always red when she would talk to me in P.E. class. I just assumed that she was tired from exercising haha). And now here we are, almost 30 years old. My feelings for Tiffany have only gotten stronger. Life goes by and my interests change, but I still pick up my phone in the morning to check if Tiffany has sent me a text message. I can’t wait for her to be my wife. To everyone reading this, I hope you enjoy the wedding! --- Tiffany’s Perspective: The year was 2010, and I was stepping into my first year of high school. Excitement and nerves took over me as I prepared to start this new chapter of my life as a freshman. On the very first day of P.E. class, Mr. Castro arranged us in alphabetical order. I scanned the class, hoping to spot one of my friends in the class, but unfortunately I found myself sitting between two strangers. One of them, sitting right behind me, was Oscar. Who would’ve thought that this seating arrangement would change my life? Somehow, we started talking that day, and, since then, we haven’t stopped talking. Over time, our conversations built a strong friendship, and that friendship slowly grew into something deeper and more meaningful. It sounds crazy to say, but I distinctly remember a moment in high school when a thought struck me out of nowhere: I think I just found my husband. At the time, it sounded silly. I was just a teenager just enjoying my life. The thought of finding a husband at that age never crossed my mind, but now, looking back, it felt like it was a sign. Life has a funny way of working things out. The right person, the right time, and even the smallest details—like our last names—aligned perfectly to have our paths cross and bring us together. And now, here we are, preparing to say “I do” and spend the rest of our lives together. He’s my best friend for over 15 years, my other half for 10 years, and now my forever!
