Where should I stay in Smithers?

Answer

Numerous hotels/motels/inns are available in Smithers. Blocked off rooms are available at the Sunshine Inn. There are typically only a few Airbnb and VRBO listings available at any given time. For more info, see section about hotels on our Travel page.

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Your invitation will specify the number of seats reserved in your honour. When using the online RSVP at the tab above, all guests (seats) in your party will be displayed.

How long should I stay for the festivities?

Answer

We would love to have you visit as many days as you can to explore the Bulkley Valley as there are many outdoor activities to enjoy! But, if time is tight we would recommend arriving in Smithers on Fri Sep 12 and leaving on Sun Sep 14 or Mon Sep 15, to enjoy the full day of celebrations on Saturday. There is an evening flight leaving Vancouver at 16:10 Friday evening and if needed, a Saturday morning flight also from Vancouver that arrives in Smithers at 09:40. There are two flights leaving Smithers on Sunday. We will have a casual get-together on Friday evening open to all guests, as well host a midday BBQ at our home on Sunday. We'd be honoured if you could attend for the whole weekend!

What should I bring?

Answer

Semi-formal/formal attire for the wedding day, walking/hiking shoes if you would like to explore the outdoors around Smithers, bathing suit if you want to visit one of the nearby lakes or use our hottub for Sunday BBQ, and a big hug for the bride and groom!

Where can I rent a car?

Answer

There are two car rentals in town - Enterprise and National. Trucks/SUVs/vans can also be rented from Northwest Truck Rentals and Frontier Truck Rentals. For more info see note about travel within Smithers on our Travel page.

Do you have a gift registry?

Answer

No. Your presence is gift enough, but if you are feeling particularly generous, a donation to our marriage/honeymoon fund would be appreciated by e-transfer to pustinaandrew@gmail.com or tiffany.chiles@gmail.com

What will the reception include?

Answer

Reception will include cocktail hour, tea ceremony, formal dinner, and DJ'd dance party until late.

Is there a DD or taxi service from the reception?

Answer

Kalum Kabs typically operates 24/7 and has a few vehicles in their fleet. DD services are currently in the works.

What is the status of the Burger King in Smithers?
