Our story starts in Fall 2009 at Gems Camp, our freshman orientation at the University of Maryland. The first time we met, I told Michael that since he was so good with numbers (I heard he went to a magnet high school), that he should memorize mine. Your move, Michael. We lived in the same freshman dorm on campus, sharing countless meals at the north campus diner, and spending late nights studying in the "fishbowl". While we drifted apart after our time at Maryland, Michael was the one who made the first move 10 years later. He asked me to brunch (where he showed up late) and then was bold enough to text a kissy face emoji immediately after. And yes - he still had my number memorized. I guess that worked because here we are! Michael proposed in Maui and Hawaii has been our favorite vacation spot ever since.
