FAQs

Here are a few FAQs regarding the cruise and wedding. We've included some very important information so please read all answers thoroughly, even if they are not regarding questions you might have at the moment!
Question

What do I need to cruise?

Answer

1) Only a passport book or card. If presenting a passport book, it cannot expire before December of 2026. 2) If you do not have a passport, you may bring your birth certificate and a valid photo-ID. 3) A State Enhanced Driver's License (EDL) is valid by itself; this is different from the REAL ID. Guests 16-18 years of age without a valid photo-ID may pair their school ID with their birth certificate. Find more info under "Travel Documents and Check-In" at https://www.carnival.com/help. PLEASE TAKE PICTURES OF THESE DOCUMENTS. If you forget them, you can make a copies using the photos you have to give to Carnival.

Question

How do I check-in for the cruise?

Answer

You can check-in online beginning Thursday, June 4 and no later than midnight on Thursday, June 18th. This can be accessed through the "Manage My Bookings" page on Carnival and will allow you to choose an arrival time to the port, print off luggage tags and your boarding pass, and avoid delays on the day of embarkation. If you want to skip the long lines on the day of embarkation, please pay for "Faster to the Fun."

Question

Where do we park to board the cruise?

Answer

You can park your car at the Port for $25 a day. You can make reservations and make your parking payments in advance here https://portnola.com/cruise. Otherwise, you may park at a relative's house with John and I and make plans to Uber to the port. We will be meeting on Thursday morning @9:30AM. So please let us know ASAP if you are parking with us so we can text you the location and keep you updated.

Question

How much luggage can I bring?

Answer

Carnival suggests 1 carry-on bag and 1 checked bag per person for a 4-5 day cruise, but they have no restrictions regarding the amount of luggage. However, luggage weight is restricted to 50 pounds and cannot exceed 16 inches high by 24 inches wide. Additionally, guests can only check their bags up until 1:30 PM. Please make sure you print off your personalized luggage tags when you check in for the cruise.

Question

Where and what time will the ceremony be?

Answer

The ceremony will take place on a private beach at Mr. Sancho's Beach Club at 9:30 AM on Saturday, June 20. Mr. Sancho's is a private resort with other guests present, so our Carnival Wedding team will be out front to identify and direct our guests who will be riding with us to the ceremony. Please make plans to travel with our group or arrive at the same time as us to avoid getting lost, as our wedding guests have a different entrance that will closed off Mr. Sancho's customers. The ceremony should only last for 15 mins with an hour to spare for photos and cake cutting.

Question

Is there transportation provided from the port to the ceremony?

Answer

Yes! Guests can arrange their transportation through us at $25 per person for a roundtrip. This is the same price for those returning to the ship or pier with us and for those staying back at Mr. Sancho's and returning later. We do not require our guests to travel with us, but please ensure you are on time to avoid interruptions to our processional, as Carnival has stated that they start promptly and will not wait for anyone. Payment for transportation arranged through us is due ASAP.

Question

What are the Wedding Colors?

Answer

The wedding colors are red and cream/white. You may dress in these colors for the ceremony, but there is no dress code.

Question

Will there be a reception?

Answer

There will not be a reception following the ceremony. Our guests can ride the van back to the port, change to explore the rest of Mexico, or purchase an all-day pass to stay back at Mr. Sancho's. After the ceremony, those not staying at Mr. Sancho's will immediately return to the port. Passes for Mr. Sancho's Beach Club can be purchased in advance at MrSanchos.com. If you're purchasing a pass, we will need your reservation number ASAP to present to our wedding coordinators so they will allow you to stay behind without a hassle. Guests staying back at Mr. Sancho's will need to meet outside at 2:45 PM to get back on the van and return to the pier. Currently, we plan to hang out at a restaurant on the pier until it's time to board the ship again.

Question

Can I sign up for excursions in Cozumel?

Answer

Because our wedding time is tentative and subject to change according to weather or other hiccups, our Wedding managers provided by Carnival advise that our guests do not pay for excursions in advance in case any details surrounding our wedding change in the coming weeks.
