What the heck is Northwoods Finery and how do I dress?

Answer

Your nicest outdoorsy clothes! Think brands like REI, Patagonia, Simms, Sitka, Xtra Tuff, Hoka, etc. Don't have clothing like this and don't want to buy anything new? Wear casual attire like a comfortable dress, a plaid or patterned button down shirt, nice jeans, slacks, or polos. No pajamas, shorts, or ghillie suits please :)

Are there ubers, lifts, or any other transport services around?

Answer

There is no such thing as public transport in Cook County! Please plan accordingly with a sober driver and/or a hotel within walking distance of the venue.

What suggestions do you have for those of us who are balling on a budget?

Grab a buddy to share expenses with if you can. We're happy to help you pair up with others if you'd like. Some hotels too look at would be Aspen Lodge, Feathernest Inn, Caribou Highlands, Cliff Dwellers, and the Mangy Moose. Groceries up here are expensive, so try buying some at Aldi or Super One in Duluth on your way up! Hotels aren't in your budget but camping is? There are lots of campgrounds around such as the Grand Marais Municipal Campground, Devil Track Lake Campground, and Cascade State Park Campground.
