On a humid late August night in 2016, outside the local bar Tsunami, Ty spotted a beautiful girl wearing a shirt with Botticelli’s Birth of Venus on it. Across the image, bold letters read: "Woke Up Like This." She was drinking milk out of a shot glass. Ty was mesmerized. "Who is THAT?" he thought. After asking around, he learned her name: Lorenza. What a name. Over the next few nights, he kept showing up at Tsunami, hoping she’d be there. Eventually, through a web of mutual friends, they were introduced. (Though if you ask them, they’ll tell you different versions of how it really happened—Ty overheard Lorenza asking their friend Natalie for his name, and when Natalie said, "That’s Ty-Baby!" Lorenza allegedly replied, "I want him to be MY Ty-Baby." This remains up for debate.) Ty soon discovered that Lorenza lived at the infamous Mustard Mansion on Silopanna Road, a house full of his musician friends. One late night, he found himself at an after-party there. Without hesitation, he kicked a bunch of his friends out of Lorenza’s room, and the two of them stayed up all night—talking, laughing, and realizing just how close they’d been to meeting their entire lives. From that night on, their adventure never stopped. Ty eventually moved into the Mustard Mansion with Lorenza. Together, they’ve lived in some strange places, taken unforgettable trips, raised a ridiculously perfect puppy, and consumed more ceviche and tequila than two people probably should. After years of wild, beautiful, and serendipitous adventures, they finally decided: It’s time to get married. The place? Tepoztlán, Mexico. Lorenza’s grandparents had an incredible home there, and on Ty’s first visit, he instantly fell in love—with the pyramids, the aliens, the tequila, the fried crickets, and the undeniable magic of it all. On October 1st, during a perfect day at Cape Henlopen, Delaware, Ty finally mustered the courage to ask Lorenza to marry him. Immediately, she said yes. We are beyond grateful for the love and support of our family and friends. Sharing this special day in one of the most meaningful and mystical places on earth to us means everything. We hope to see you in Mexico!
