Houston is known for its diverse and delicious foods, especially Asian food. In our opinion, this is the best Pho in town. Be sure to stop by next door for a refreshing sugarcane juice at “Mia and More”! This is located in Houston’s Asia town so feel free to explore the culture here :)
Houston is known for its crawfish and locals know the best place to go is Crawfish Cafe! Right in the heart of Houston’s Asia town (just 7 miles away from the hotel block) you can treat yourself to a few pounds of juicy flavorful crawfish. We recommend “The Grail Sauce” or the classic garlic butter sauce!
If you’re looking to get a taste of the south, we recommend an elevated fried chicken experience at La Lucha. It comes with 3 sauces and the biscuits are so yummy we are drooling writing this description for you. Enjoy!
If you’re spending a few days in town and looking for a family outing, a favorite spot is the Museum of Natural Science—especially for its astronomy and paleontology exhibits, plus the stunning butterfly glasshouse. Just across the street, you’ll find the beautiful Centennial Gardens, perfect for a peaceful stroll and some great photos.
Fun fact: Our first official date was at the movies—ask us sometime why we had to walk out early! While that original theater has since closed, this theater is a true favorite. Built on a rooftop with skyline views, this open-air theater is known for showing cult favorites and classic films. You can grab a drink at the bar, relax in the lounge, and once the sun sets, enjoy a movie under the stars. Pretty romantic, right?
Some of Thu’s fondest memories with Kenneth have involve belting into a microphone at karaoke. This spot is a favorite of ours for its endless song selection and surprisingly delicious food. Don’t worry if you’re shy—they offer private rooms for groups, so you can sing your heart out without an audience (unless you bring one!).
If If you're up for something active and social, we recommend heading out to Katy, just 12 miles west of the hotel block. For mini golf, PopStroke is a local favorite, featuring two 18-hole courses, a rooftop bar, and a laid-back vibe. Not into golf? Thu suggests indoor rock climbing at Momentum Climbing, while Kenneth’s pick is high-speed go-karting at Andretti Indoor Karting & Games. All three spots are within a 3-mile radius—so whatever you're in the mood for, you're in for a good time!
