Answer

Please RSVP on our website (see RSVP tab). Please complete your RSVP for both the shuttle bus and our wedding ceremony.

Question

What date do I need to RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP no later than Friday, October 18th. This is also the last day to book a room in our hotel block.

Question

What are the addresses of the wedding ceremony and reception venues? Are they ADA accessible?

Answer

Our entire wedding celebration will all be held at The Masonic Temple Detroit. The address is 500 Temple St, Detroit, MI 48201. The venue is ADA accessible.

Question

Will there be shuttle service to the wedding venue?

Answer

Yes, we will be providing shuttle service to and from the venue. The shuttle service will pick up and drop off at The Westin Book Cadilac Hotel. All guests who wish to use the shuttle will need to RSVP on the RSVP page. Shuttle pick up time: 4:15pm -The Shuttle will arrive at The Cadilac Book Westin Hotel at 4:15pm and will allow 15 minutes for boarding. The Shuttle will leave at 4:30pm for The Masonic Temple. Shuttle return times: 12am (Midnight) -The Shuttle will arrive for pickup at The Masonic Wedding at 12am, which is when the reception ends. 15 minutes will be allowed for boarding. The Shuttle will leave at 12:15am for The Cadilac Book Westin hotel. The only option for parking at The Masonic Temple is street parking. We recommend taking an Uber or Lyft if you are not planning on using the Shuttle.

Question

Have you reserved blocks of rooms at one or more hotels?

Answer

Yes, we have reserved a block of rooms at The Westin Book Cadilac Hotel. The link to book rooms in our block of rooms is available on the Travel tab. The last day the block will be open is October 18th. We have included options for two other nearby hotels for those who may want a different option, but we do not have a block or rooms at those hotels.

Question

What is the wedding dress code?

Answer

Cocktail and Formal attire are welcome! We suggest that men wear suites or dress shirt and tie in any color, and women wear formal dresses, cocktail dresses, or pant suites.

Question

What will the weather in Michigan be like in November?

Answer

This is a loaded question.... Our Great Lakes weather can be unpredictable and can change quickly. The average high in November is 48 degrees and the low is 36 degrees. There is definitely potential for rain, snow, and a 100% chance Michigan will beat Ohio State! If you plan on exploring the city while you are here, we recommend bringing clothes that you can layer to adjust to temperature changes. The wind coming off the Detroit River can bring a chill (thanks Canada!). We would also recommend bringing winter, or a heavy fall coat, and shoes that will keep your feet warm and dry.

Question

Am I allowed to bring a plus one?

Answer

Your invitation will indicate whether you may bring a plus one by indicating your name followed by your guest's name, or with your name followed by "& Guest". *Please note, this will be a plated dinner and we will need your guest's meal choice included with your RSVP.

Question

Are children invited to your wedding?

Answer

While we will be accommodating the children who are in our wedding party, we will not be including other children on the guest list. We want all of our guests to have a night to relax, unwind, and celebrate without having to worry about the little ones. Get ready for a night full of drinks, live music, and dancing! We appreciate your understanding of our request and hope we have provided you with enough notice to make childcare arrangements.

Question

I have food allergies/dietary restrictions. How should I communicate and will I be accomodated?

Answer

A Vegan/Gluten Free option is being provided for dinner. Specific allergy requirements beyond glutton free will be handled on a case by case basis and should be indicated as such on the RSVP.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Absolutely!

Question

Am I allowed to take photos at your wedding?

Answer

We LOVE our photographer and trust that she will capture all of our important moments, which we will share with you! We ask for no photos to be taken during the ceremony to allow our photographer to do her thing! Remember, she will be taking pictures of our guest too- no one wants to be that person caught in a photo with their phone in front of their face! We expect that if our guests do choose to take their own photos during cocktail hour or the reception, that they will be respectful of our photographer and the moments she is trying to capture.
