Question

Why are there two dates?

Answer

We are having a traditional Cambodian wedding and these ceremonies tend to be about 4 to 6 hours long. So instead of doing everything in one day, we decided to have the ceremony one day and the reception the next. The ceremony will be on Friday, June 6, 2025. The reception will be on Saturday, June 7, 2025.

Question

What are the locations for the ceremony and reception?

Answer

The ceremony will take place at the bride’s parents’ home which is common in Cambodian wedding culture. 2100 E. 7th St. Apt. 2 Long Beach, CA 90804 The reception will take place at Paracel Restaurant. 15583 Brookhurst St Westminster, CA 92683

Question

What time are the events?

Answer

The ceremony will take place in the morning at around 8:00 am and will go on until 2:00 pm. The reception will start at 6:00pm. Dinner is expected to be served at 7:00pm. The night will end at 11:00pm.

Question

What time should we arrive for the events?

Answer

If you plan on attending the Cambodian ceremony, we are expected to start at 8:00 am, but we do not expect guests to stay for the entire ceremony since it will end around 2:00pm. There are many different parts of the ceremony so feel free to stay for the whole thing and fully immerse yourself in our Khmer culture or just stop by for some parts. As for the reception, doors will open at 6:00 pm and dinner will be served by 7:00 pm. The restaurant has its own free parking lot where you can self-park.

Question

What happens at a traditional Cambodian ceremony?

Answer

There are many different parts of the ceremony, but I think this other Cambodian bride's post sums up some things you can expect. You can check out her blog post below. https://www.theadventurediet.com/blog/how-to-do-a-mixed-multicultural-cambodian-american-wedding#toc-what-was-my-cambodian-khmer-wedding-ceremony-like-

Question

What is the parking situation for the venues?

Answer

The ceremony will take place at a home in Long Beach, so there will unfortunately only be street parking available. We highly recommend carpooling! The reception venue has its own parking lot! There will be plenty of space for our guests to self-park. Paracel Restaurant also has parking behind the building.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We kindly ask that you do not bring a plus one unless stated on the invitation. Seating is limited at the reception venue only to invited guests.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

At the reception we will have a bottle of the Cambodian party staple, Hennessy at every table. In addition, we will have open bar but only from 8:00pm to 10:00pm.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by April 6, 2025! We understand things happen, but to help us plan accordingly, we kindly request you RSVP by the deadline.

Question

Will the ceremony and reception take place indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will mostly take place indoors. However, there is a part of the traditional Cambodian ceremony where guests will walk around the block as part of the bride procession. It’s almost like a little parade! This is the only part of the ceremony where you can expect to be outdoors. The reception will take place indoors.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code for both events is semi formal / formal attire.
