God brought Sophie and Sam together at a time in their lives when they least expected it. With 7 months to go in their senior years at Purdue, something told Sophie that she just HAD to go to the pool at her apartment complex Labor Day weekend. A few duplexes down, Sam had the same idea. And so that afternoon they met for the first time as they each spent time with a few close friends. After striking up a conversation, and realizing that one of Sam’s best friends was in the Pharmacy program with Sophie and her roommates, AND that they all lived in the same apartment complex, Sam and Sophie became friends. Over the next few months as Sam and his roommates spent more time with Sophie and hers, their friendship deepened. Sam and Sophie started to notice more and more that something was special when they were together. They made each other feel differently than anyone they’d known before… when they were together it was easy, fun, relaxing, and genuine. Sam felt God nudging his heart to calmly and intentionally pursue a deeper relationship with Sophie and after talking it over they decided to start dating. In the months that followed as they learned to prioritize each other, communicate well, be vulnerable and love each other deeply, they knew they were the one for each other! After Sam graduated, he took a job in video production in Indianapolis and they did “short-distance”… traveling back and forth to see each other as Sophie finished her second to last year of her Doctorate of Pharmacy at Purdue. In her final year of clinical rotations before graduating, Sophie moved to Indy too, kicking off their life “in the real world” together! God is good! Sophie graduated in May of 2025, and is now finishing her years of clinical residency at Community Health Network while Sam continues to work as a producer and creative director. They are both incredibly excited to get married, spend every day striving to get each other to heaven, and start the rest of this crazy, joyous, journey called life together - as husband and wife!
