This is one of our favorite things to do in Minneapolis! There are paved paths around the four lakes that make up the Chain of Lakes (Cedar Lake, Lake of the Isles, Bde Maka Ska, and Lake Harriet) that are perfect for a stroll. We would also recommend grabbing a coffee and a puppy dog tail from Isles Bun & Coffee to supplement your walk!
An incredible place to visit if the weather is nice! A free and public sculpture garden right in the heart of the city that is such a treat! There is a bridge across the highway to Loring Park as well, where you can walk around the pond and relax.
Great beer, great food, great environment — we love it all here at Surly! They’ve got a great indoor/outdoor space for whatever weather September will throw at us, and live entertainment most of the time!
One of our favorite restaurants in the city — we especially love the Crispy Pork Belly, Pork Fried Rice, and Peanut Noodles!
Looking for good Italian food? Look no further than Red Rabbit in Minneapolis — we love their Burrata, Crispy Potatoes, and Cavatelli pasta!
Truly one of the most unique dining experiences that Minneapolis has to offer — Owamni only serves food that is native to North America! This means cutting out things like beef, pork, chicken, and dairy and instead highlighting ingredients and products of North American like corn, beans, squash, wild game, birds, fish, and Native plants. A little spendy but truly one of the tastiest and most interesting meals you could have in the city. The menu changes with the season so we can’t give you any recommendations, just that everything served here is beautiful and so good!
The Cabana Club is located on St. Anthony Main, which is a trendy street to walk down in and of itself, and this is where you’ll find some beautiful patios for happy hour! Located right along the river, the vibes are right and the drinks are plentiful. We’d also recommend Aster Cafe right next door!
A Minneapolis staple (and just a short drive from our house), Marty’s Deli is THE place to go for breakfast sandwiches in the city. All served on house-made focaccia, you can’t go wrong ordering anything here. Be warned, there is usually a line (that moves very quickly) and they close at 3!
Diane’s Place is another restaurant that we love in Minneapolis! They serve Hmong American food that recently placed in the Food & Wine Restaurant of the Year for 2025. While their dinner and brunch are fantastic, we also love grabbing pastries and coffee from them in the morning!
