We have set up two room blocks at hotels in downtown Minneapolis (10 minutes from our venue). You can find the link to book rooms at either of these rooms blocks on the Travel page of our website. There are many other hotels and short-term rental opportunities around Minneapolis, but we hope that you’ll utilize our room blocks and shuttles to make your weekend stay as easy as possible!
Our welcome party at Utepils Brewing will be a dressy casual affair! For us this means casual dresses, slacks and a button up, and anything else you would wear for your “Sunday Best.”
Our wedding dress code is black-tie optional. For us, this means that the bridal party will be wearing tuxedos and floor-length gowns. We would love if you embraced the festivities of the evening and dressed up as much as possible! For those not looking to rent a tux, a suit and tie, a fun jumpsuit, and ankle-length gowns all are perfectly acceptable! Please refrain from wearing brown, as that is the color the wedding party will be wearing.
We will have shuttles running to the Van Dusen Mansion from both the The Marquette Hotel and the Rand Tower Hotel to the Van Dusen Mansion, beginning at 2:30PM on the day of the wedding. The shuttles will then be running again back to both hotels starting at 8PM. There will also be access to the parking lot next to the Van Dusen Mansion for those looking to drive to the wedding. Parking lot access begins at 3:30PM. Please do not park in this lot before then, as it is used for the office building next door. Cars cannot be left in this lot overnight! Ride share options like Uber and Lyft are available in Minneapolis and we would hope that anyone planning on drinking at our wedding would utilize a safe option to return home at the end of the night!
We advise guests to try and arrive at 3:30PM or before. Shuttles will be running consistently from the hotels starting at 2:30PM. For those who are driving to the wedding, we want to make sure you have time to park and make your way over without missing any of the festivities! The parking lot adjacent to the Van Dusen Mansion will be available for use starting at 3:30PM.
Our ceremony will be outdoors (god willing!). September is a finicky time for weather in Minneapolis, so we’d advise you be prepared for scorching hot weather or a brisk afternoon. The ceremony may be moved inside if there is persistent and heavy-hitting rain, and we will let you all know if that is the case.
Please refer to your invitation and what parties appear when you go to RSVP on our website as a guide to who is invited to our wedding. As much as we believe in the more the merrier, there is a strict venue capacity that cannot accommodate extra guests. Thank you for understanding!
