Matron of Honor
I have literally known Tori since she was born. She is my ride-or-die built-in best friend, more like my little sister than my cousin. I can't imagine going through my wedding without her by my side! Hogwarts House: Slytherin
Best Man
Owen is my brother. I've known him my entire exhausting life. We are comrades in arms, mostly in video games. He is a champion of dumb puns, questionable jokes, and being a kind person. Hogwarts House: Slytherin
Matron of Honor
I met Sam through our mutual friend, Alex, almost two years ago. The three of us spent many nights drinking too much moscato, eating too much junk food, and sharing our darkest secrets, so of course I had to have them both standing by me to keep me sane (and sneak me wine!). Groomsman
Johnny and I became fast friends through our other best friend Jeremy Carabajal. Our bonds over video games, music, and intellectual conversations that sometimes I have trouble following have held strong over the past eight years. I am deeply lucky to have Johnny in my life. The photo is from our road trip with Jeremy to Madison WI and was taken at the Henry Vilas Zoo that I grew up going to. Hogwarts House: Ravenclaw
Bridesmaid
I met Alex through Morgan's friend Jeremy, and we quickly became close friends. It's been a great time having this girl as my friend for the past six years, and I'm so happy to have her by my side on my wedding day! Hogwarts House: Gryffindor
Groomsman
I met Jeremy through the University of Kansas' Recycling program. We both got student jobs there and our first shift together we talked about all sorts of nonsense from music to the point of life to video games (there is a theme here it seems) and we've been besties ever since. The most I've laughed can generally go back to some random improv nonsense we say over voice chat as distance and the pandemic have reduced the amount of time we get to see each other in person. Another person I am lucky to have in my life. Hogwarts House: Hufflepuff
Bridesmaid
Gina and I met when she started dating my younger brother when they were in high school. After almost nine years, she is definitely a part of the family, and one of the sweetest ladies I've ever met. I'm so excited she's going to be part of our wedding! Hogwarts House: Hufflepuff
Groomsman
Zak is Kayla's brother. I am extremely lucky that is the case. Zak is everything I look for in a friend. Patient, kind, a good heart, and a healthy dose of dark humor. Honestly, I could not have asked for a better brother-in-law. Hogwarts House: Slytherin
Officiant
JR and I go back to the high school days. We hung out at a mutual friend's house and later that night we may have been involved in some shenanigans that involved a car and saran wrap. We roomed together in Iowa City for three years and grew up from dumb college kids to somewhat responsible young adults together. We have kept in touch over the years and when Kayla and I started dating, JR and a friend, Ryan, came down to visit me in Kansas. We came up with the idea to trick JR into thinking Kayla only spoke Russian given her academic career at the time. JR is a great guy, and he was never more polite and patient than during the 30 minutes we pretended to translate for him and honestly that says more about him and his character than I ever could. When we first played around with the idea of asking a friend to be the officiant, Kayla and I both thought of him first. (We're already legally married so don't tell JR that he's not the one that married us, thank you Tori!) Hogwarts House: Gryffindor
