Brittany and Evan both entered as freshman into the University of Florida during the fall of 2017. Although not big partygoers themselves, they just so happened to attend the same events as one another. UF provided a free Uber service of sorts, called S.N.A.P., for students to utilize free transportation after hours. While on her way to one of these parties, Brittany's S.N.A.P. pulled over to pick up a few more passengers heading to the same destination. As fate would have it, in stepped Evan and his roommate Alexis (now one of his groomsmen!). The boys danced and sang during the entire ride, making quite the show for Brittany and her friends. At the party, Brittany and Evan became acquainted and exchanged contact information, but went separate ways. Almost an entire month later, at a Halloween-themed party, they ran into each other once more. Brittany, dressed as a mermaid, and Evan, dressed as a caveman, spent the entire night talking. A few days later, Evan invited Brittany on a date in his dorm room (Yulee, 3rd Floor to be exact), where he cooked lamb and vegetables in the common room. Not wanting the date to end, they went to Sweetberries for frozen custard afterwards. The rest is history!

Although Brittany was led to believe they would be celebrating Evan's mom's belated birthday, Evan had other plans! Prior to their lunch reservation, Evan asked Brittany to walk along the pier with him. Little did she know, Evan had been coordinating for months with both of their families to make it quite a memorable walk. At the edge of the pier, Evan proposed, receiving a resounding YES from Brittany, all while their families watched from the restaurant above. Afterwards, the Fialas and the Thomases celebrated with one another in anticipation of soon becoming one family. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you.
