We're getting married!

Under the high frequency flickering lights of one of the basement rooms of the 29,228 square foot Mitchell Center building, South Alabama's track and field athletes gather for their first meeting of the new school year. Among them, sits Thomas Boyd, a freshman, eager to show off what he believes are muscles of boulders and impress all the college chicks. Enter Marina - a graceful intellectual. Her golden hair flowing in the wind, her laugh melting Thomas Boyd's heart; he had to talk to her! "Ah! So you're one of the smart kids," is what this hidden genius comes up with after she receives one of those GPA award certificates the Sun Belt Conference hands out to just about anyone. With a confused look, Marina curtly answers: I guess. As the semester continued, Thomas tried his best to talk to Marina every chance he got, and Marina, not impressed with Thomas' reputation as a "Greek god"-party boy-lady's man-doofus, tried her best not to encourage any of his attentions. Until one fateful night... On hallows eve, the annual track team Halloween party took place, and Luigi (Thomas) once again took his chance. Though, to this day, he will tell you he left with a kiss from wrecking ball Miley (Marina), his efforts were not rewarded. The years passed, Thomas continued to try and talk to Marina, and Marina continued to believe Thomas to be a meat-brain who took ping-pong classes in college (absurd!). Thomas remained patient though. If there's one thing that can be said for this man: he did not quit bugging Marina wow! So, on yet another more fateful night... Thomas ran into Marina while out on the town with her friends. He tried with all his might to woo her, he followed her everywhere, and eventually she gave him her number. After that, he texted her Monday and asked to hang out and she said no, Tuesday and she said no, Wednesday she said no, Thursday she said no, Friday and she said "ok fine". After this sort of persistence, Marina eventually fell deeply in love.

So, it looks like this virus is here to stay a little longer and we've had to adjust our plans a little - the wedding ceremony and reception will include only close family and friends, and we will attempt a zoom wedding (details to come) for those who couldn't make it. This was a very difficult decision to make, but we know you'll understand. For those attending the wedding celebrations; we are working hard to abide by all the rules and regulations to keep everyone safe. We'll be about 40 or so people, servers will wear masks and gloves of course, and we're asking guests that feel even the slightest bit sickly to stay away.
