Activities at the Oceanfront
It's Summer. It's Virginia Beach. It is IMPOSSIBLE to be bored here! Hang out on the Boardwalk, visit the surf shops (whether you surf gracefully or -- like me -- gravity loves you too much and you surf not at all), cafes/restaurants, concerts at the MANY pavilions, or a whole lotta people watching. It's all here at this website!
Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center
This is where Kristin met Isabel, Gabby, and Dylan for the first time (she was so nervous, but they LOVED her)!
Norfolk Botanical Garden
We LOVE this place, especially when lit at night for the Chinese Lantern Festival or the Million Bulb Walk at Christmas. (The flowers in the daytime aren't so bad either). A place of beauty and peace to quiet your soul.
Mount Trashmore Park
I used to ride my bike here daily, we'd take the kids to the playgrounds, and we watched fireworks here at the Fourth of July! Yes, it used to be a landfill, hence the name....
Funny Bone
The fountain out front is where we had out first selfie together, that you see on our date pic all over this site, and we loved seeing shows here at the Funny Bone!
AMC Lynnhaven 18
Where we first met on the bench outside, after mutually swiping right on Tinder (Yes, Tinder). NOT where the wedding is, but has a great mall which the kids, Kristin, and I roamed. A LOT.

Do you like the night life? Do you like to boogy? Well, this is the place for you! Were we having a traditional reception, you might see Kristin, Bonnie, & Tim contributing their talents to training couples to dance in style. They do that here! They even trained ME (a little). On Fridays they host a party too! Lotta fun.

Huge portions, great bloody maries and mimosas, tough choice between this one and Hair of the Dog. Bonus! This is in the same shopping center as the Strawbridge Cinema, where we are getting hitched! Load up on a late breakfast before the ceremony/movie....

A good place to kick back outside with dogs, kids, food trucks, and micro-brews.

Shopping, shopping, shopping, for cheap! Well, that's what Kristin did anyway. Tom camped out at the Starbucks and wrote all day. Happy together, even if they're doing their own thing!

Just opened here April 10th! Come for the wood furniture with confusing cartoon instructions, get lost in the labyrinthian maze inside, survive on hot dogs and Swedish meatballs until the rescue parties find you....
