Sunrise Mountain Hike

Hišimy̓awiƛ means “Gather Together” in the Barkley Sound dialect of the Ucluelet First Nation. We would love to gather together with our friends and family who are ready to drive up a forest service road and ascend on a steep hike into the mountains (Type: Out & Back, Length: 3.2km, Difficulty: Hard, Estimated Time: 3hrs, Elevation Gain: 544m). Tom and April (plus Mitchell :) tackled this hike once before, in the dead of winter, with the ambitious goal of skiing and surfing in the same day. This time, we are hoping for a less snow covered route to see the breathtaking views of Vancouver Island. Note the allotted time and be ready for some decent elevation gain! It’s all part of the Tom and April adventure! If you would like to take a more causal route (kid-friendly), check out the Tonquin Trail in the "Things to Do" tab.
Afternoon Surf & Beach

Cox Bay is one of Tofino’s top surf spots, but even if you’re not catching waves, it’s a great place for a beach walk, picnic or swim. Cox is easily accessible from Pacific Sands Resort, Surf Grove Campground, or the public parking area via the trail just past the bathroom block. We will set up close to the trail head so everyone can find us :) Surfboard rentals are available at Surf Grove Campground and Surf Sister at Pacific Sands Resort at your own cost. Wedding Ceremony

Beach Attire: Whether you prefer breezy linens and bare feet or elegant evening gowns, all attire is welcome! Just keep in mind that heels and sand don’t always mix.
Take the Beach Trail from the Wickaninnish Inn to join us on the beach to witness the marriage of Tom and April, surrounded by our beautiful friends and family in a place we love so much.
Cocktail Hour & Reception Dinner

Join us for a few local cocktails, a beautiful dinner and a night of dancing! Unfortunately, we cannot extend the dinner invite to children, unless they can sit on your lap. Whale Watching Tour

Whale Watching in Tofino is an unforgettable way to wrap up the weekend, and research shows that tours haven’t impacted the presence of these amazing animals around Tofino.
