Lễ Vu Quy is a traditional Vietnamese engagement ceremony that honors the union of two families. Rooted in respect, gratitude, and intention, it marks the formal request for the bride’s hand and the families’ official blessing of the marriage. During the ceremony, symbolic offerings are presented, ancestral altars are honored, and the couple is formally introduced as future spouses. Lễ Vu Quy is a moment of reverence, where lineage, love, and commitment are woven together, setting the foundation for the marriage to come.

Black Tie formal
This will be a full Nuptial Mass and wedding ceremony. The church observes a very punctual start time, so we kindly suggest arriving 15–20 minutes early to allow ample time for parking and the walk into the church. As this is a traditional Catholic ceremony, we kindly ask our guests to dress elegantly and consider wearing a shawl or coat. We are very excited to see everyone's outfits, however, Saint John Vianney is a place of worship and solemnity. We trust that all of our guests will dress and act respectfully.
