Lake Winnebago is a perfect place to unwind. Take a quick lakeside walk, grab a drink with a view, or just sit by the water and enjoy the breeze. You can even rent a kayak or catch a pretty amazing sunset if the timing’s right.
Right in the heart of Downtown Oshkosh is the county’s Opera House Square, a unique event space and heritage site. At its base is a fountain and a 30-foot-long indicator making it one of the largest sundials in the country. Take an afternoon stroll by the fountain and learn more about the county’s rich history etched in the granites.
Staying a little longer? Make a trip up to Door County! Door County is the Wisconsin peninsula on Lake Michigan, about a 1.5–2 hour drive from Oshkosh. It offers scenic shorelines, quaint towns, state parks, lighthouses, wineries, and great local food. (Local tip: you can even make a pit-stop in Green Bay on the way to make a full day trip out of it!)
