AIRPORT TRAVEL

Guatemala only has 1 international airport called Aeropuerto Internacional La Aurora (La Aurora International Airport), code (GUA). American Airlines, Delta, Spirit, United, Avianca, Copa, and other well-known airlines all operate through here. As you plan your trip, please consider Antigua, Guatemala is about 1 hour from Guatemala City. We recommend arriving on Thursday or Friday to allow you to relax and enjoy the beautiful city of Antigua, Guatemala. Please see below for Guatemala City’s weekday and Saturday rush hours. Rush hour AM: From 6 am to 9 am Rush hour PM: From 4 pm to 8 pm IMPORTANT: Please arrive at GUA airport at least 2 hours before your scheduled flight.

TRANSPORTATION

The best way to get from the airport to Antigua, Guatemala is by shuttle service. We are happy to provide recommendations in the coming months and assist with making reservations upon request. Although we do not recommend renting a car, Uber is widely available throughout Guatemala and is a safe and inexpensive means of transportation to be utilized during your stay.

We suggest staying near Central Park. Please keep in mind that January is one of the busiest months in Antigua so be sure to book ahead of time.
